Phenomenal! Joe and the boys played exremely tight! Eric was a welcome edition and did a great job, and he really jazzed up Rasberry Jam!! Borg Sex went from album techno to downright funky thanks to Stu; the song is great on the album, fantastic live! I'm a guitarist myself so 99.99% of my attention was on Joe, Eric, and Stu - but Jeff's contributions didn't go un-noticed. He kept my head doing the 'Radar Love' groove thing all evening. Finally, Joe is better than ever! I've seen him 3 times now, Flyin' tour, Extremist tour, and this one, and he just gets un-humanly better each time. The man has soul! From the opening grind of 'Time' to the last loving note of 'Rubina', Joe kept a tear of fascination in my eye! Words can't describe what his music has meant to me over the last 13 years, and this show only amplified those same emotions! And to top off the evening, I was blessed with backstage passes from the online contest. Joe was extremely personable, and very accomodating. He didn't get the least bit annoyed at my babbling praise and numerous requests for photos and autographs. Thank you again, Joe, for the beautiful, inspirational music, and the completely wonderful evening. Be safe!

I thought I had seen the best when I saw Joe at the "Evening with..." concert. Joe has simply outdone himself here. The mix of music, the variations of the songs, and the jaw-dropping technical virtuosity made this concert a wild ride! Stu's bass solo was the best I've heard from him, and Joe was God as usual. Joe has reached the apex of guitar music and guitar playing, and he continues to get better. Clouds Race Across the Sky was incredible. I hope Joe decides to play more songs from EOC on his next tour, maybe Champaign and Slow and Easy. But, overall, it was the three hours of music anyone will hear.

Wow, I never seen Joe, or I never been to Chicago. My dad has seen joe before. He is 53 I'm 27. Man I had the greatest time in my life. It was so neat in the House of Blues. Joe was so great. He is very, very talented. He gets better every album. Yngwie Malmsteen was my fav but after seeing Joe ,Joe is my favorite now. Malmsteen never comes close to Ft. Wayne Indiana. I never seen anyone play like him. he makes it sound so good instead of a bunch of noise. Joe my dad and I want to give you our blessings. God has blessed you very much. I'm trying to learn like you. You are ahead of evryone. Keep going my friend. You are the guitar player of the millinium. Thanks you for the greatest show!

A well paced marathon of instrumental madness! Only point to pick on was the down play of EOC. Due probably to its placement in the set, Devils Slide was trimmed off the top and lost its effect. Borg, Bye, and Clouds were great, but how about a couple more? Oh quit moaning. I was in my glory for the better part of 3 hrs and converted 2 new fans. Thanks guys for the incred show! Now back to reality.

Joe....Joe....Joe....Joe....Joe....Joe....Joe....Joe....that's what we kept chanting all night. It was a fantastic evening with the shredmaster at the house. We were right in the front the whole night(center stage)for 3+ hours of the masters work. Myself,my brother Doug,my son Nathan,my freinds wheelchair Jim and Chris rocked our asses off to the old and new sounds of Joe and company.Excuse me Joe if I played a little too much air guitar but,I just could'nt help myself from jamming along with you. This was only the second time I have seen Joe and I wish I could have seen him a long time ago. My son Nathan said that he was hypnotised by his blinding speed and outrageous tones and harmonics of the chrome boy. I have been trying to tell these guys just how good he really is live.Well gotta go just wanted to say a few things in favor of instrumental music.May guitar music live on forever.Mark the Harp.

Words can't begin to describe what this night meant to me. This was my first time to attend one of Joe's shows, but I've been a fan(addict) for nearly 10 years now ... I live and breath Joe's music. ---------- The show started exactly on time and the setlist was played exactly as it has been to this point in the tour (thank you Neil Mulgrew!). I'll post it here for those who haven't seen it, it made a big difference for me in preparing for this experience. ----------- 1. Time, 2. Devil's Slide, 3. The Crush of Love, 4. Satch Boogie, 5. Borg Sex, 6. Flying in a Blue Dream, 7. Ice 9, 8. Cool #9, 9. Circles, 10. Until We Say Goodbye, 11. Ceremony, 12. Extremist, 13. Summer Song, 15 MINUTE BREAK, 14. Down, Down, Down, 15. Clouds Race Across the Sky, 16. A Train of Angels, 17. Raspberry Jam Delta-V, 18. Crystal Planet, 19. Love Thing, STU SOLO, 20. Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing, 21. One Big Rush, 22. Always With Me, Always With You, 23. Big Bad Moon, FIRST ENCORE: 24. Friends, 25. Surfing With the Alien, SECOND ENCORE: 26. Rubina. ---------- Contrary to the first review, Joe definitely did NOT play "Slow and Easy". Highlights for me were every song, it was like Joe gave me 26 pieces of his heart. I've heard copies of live performances, but the recorded stuff just can't do it justice - I was blown away. I was front-line-left, right where Joe played most of the night - so close to this incredible performer. "Always" was magnificent, slowed down slightly and played with unbelievable feeling. Stu was STUUUUUUUUU, and his solo just about brought the house down. Jeff was really pounding away - I can still feel it! Eric is a perfect compliment to Joe, and I hope he becomes a permanent fixture to Joe's lineup. Early in the show Joe said "I Like Your Sign" - that was mine! And later, I caught a pick! --------- And as if the show in itself wasn't enough, I was blessed with aftershow passes (my friend John was one of the two winners here). Joe signed my guitar, and my sign, and posed for a picture, and answered several questions I've been dying to ask. I got to spend about 5 minutes with him and it was perfect. THANK YOU JOE! ---------- It was everything I hoped that it might be and about 10 times more. I would rate it INFINITY on a scale of one to ten! It was a 3-hour musical orgasm!

I have to admit to not being a big fan of Satriani or the pure guitar artists. That changed with this show. The show was absolutely awe-inspiring, and I spent most of the night with my mouth open in disbelief. I was lucky enough to win after show passes from this website. The HoB people were very professional and Joe was so nice. He signed a few things for us and then spent several minutes talking about future projects. I can't imagine a better time. Thanks for everything.

Concert ticket: $38.50 Satriani T-shirt: $27.00 An evening of air guitar with Joe Satriani: Priceless.

An amazing show, awesome production, lighting, effects, everything. Perfect sound. Great choices for songs, all of the Crystal Planet stuff totally rocked. 'Mystical Potatoehead Groove Thing' was a highpoint as were the brillaint renditions of 'Devils Slide' and 'Borg Sex' from the new album; I was wondering how that stuff would turn out live. Genius from an artist willing to challenge himself and evolve. A great event, let's all hope he's having these concerts recorded. Do yourself a favor and see this guy.

Note: Joe or someone in his production must have been paying attention to past reviewers that were upset at the volume level at previous shows because tonight was perfect. i've been to several shows at the House of Blues here in Chicago, and it seems like it's easy for the guys at the board to get a bit lax and crank it up too much. Because Joe is all about finesse and guitar work, it's essential that the volume be loud but not too loud so all that good stuff comes through. The deepest bass to the highest pitched scream came through perfectly... kudos to whoever kept the volume at a heavy, but easily listenable level.

JOE!! The show tonight was AMAZING. My congrats to you and the entire band. Thank you for playing "Slow and easy". That was my third time seeing Joe and the band, they keep getting better with every tour. The House of Blues made the light show look even better, and the acoustics in that place are wonderful. My only problem is that I can't see the second show tommorow, here in our great city of Chicago. Take care Joe, and I can't wait for a G3!!
