Spectacular performance! The best of the nine Satriani shows I’ve seen. Joe really looked like he was enjoying himself. I don’t remember seeing him quite that animated on stage before either. The set list was outstanding. I often wondered if Joe knows that we diehard fans really wanted to hear some uncommon and rare stuff. Joe knows. Oh yes, Joe knows. “Lords of Karma, Hordes of Locusts, Motorcycle Driver, Strange” – the list goes on. For those who are wondering, the set list was:

UP IN THE SKY HOUSE FULL OF BULLETS COOL #9 GNAAHH TIME LORDS OF KARMA IF I COULD FLY I LIKE THE RAIN THE TRAVELER HORDES OF LOCUSTS MOTORCYCLE DRIVER -intermission- SLEEPWALK STARRY NIGHT MOROCCAN SUNSET BAMBOO STRANGE SEARCHING HANDS IN THE AIR PSYCHO MONKEY IS THERE LOVE IN SPACE? WAR FLYING IN A BLUE DREAM -encore- ALWAYS WITH YOU, ALWAYS WITH ME SURFING WITH THE ALIEN

I was a little bummed that there was nothing from Engines of Creation or Time Machine, but it was still really awesome. There are some real instant classics on Joe’s latest, like Searching and Is There Love in Space? That song just drips with emotion and vibe. Diehard Satch fans, we have been rewarded! Satch on! Thanks Joe!

That being said, I will take one moment for a commentary on concert-goers. There were two guys in particular in the 8th row center that tried very hard to ruin an awesome show. Your level of obnoxiousness is not what is appreciated by the artists or their fans. Show your enthusiasm wholeheartedly between the songs then please SHUT UP! You ruin the experience for others around you who are trying to listen intently to the music. If you are brain-dead and can’t figure that out, then just stay home.

<I didn’t know he was going to make an appearance at Cascio Music! Oh, well… there’s always next time.>

A really great performance from Joe and the band! The second segment especially impressed me where the guys just jammed on some of the songs, playing extended, highly improvised versions. Joe really should release another live CD and/or DVD highlighting some of this tour's jams! ...Great stuff...

I'm also glad they mixed up their set list to include many lesser known/played tunes. It's always great to hear the expected stuff, like “Flying in a Blue Dream” for example, but (this being my third time seeing Joe) it was so cool to hear so many unexpected songs. The highlight, for me, was “Moroccan Sunset.” That is one of my favorites and to hear it live with plenty of improvisation thrown in made it unforgettable.

They played for about two and a half hours, but I could have stayed there listening forever...

Joe, you truly are an incredible musician and songwriter!! Thanks.

I just got back from the Pabst and Joe was awesome! I went to his August show here with Deep Purple at the Marcus Ampitheatre and both shows blew me away! This concert was a continuation of the August show because he played a ton of songs that I didn't hear at the previous show. Joe played I think every song off his ITLIS album. I was thrilled to hear Joe play Starry Night, Hands in the Air, Gnahhh, Cool #9, and awesome jam session of Searching, and ended the set with a personal favorite, Flying in a Blue Dream. It was cool to hear Joe's "odd" songs such as Psycho Monkey and Hordes of Locusts. In the encore, we were awestruck with an extended version of Always With You, Always With Me, and the blown away with Surfing With The Alien. The concert left me speechless! I will most definately be on the lookout for when Joe is in town again! I was also able to meet Joe in person when he appeared last night at Cascio Interstate Music in New Berlin. It was such a thrill to actually shake the hand of the guitarist who has inspired me, as well as have him sign my Satriani Signature Series JS1200CA guitar!!!! I was bummed when Joe let me know that he was putting Summer Song "on the shelf" for a bit, but the concert was well worth the money anyways! Thanks for the autographs Joe! Hope to see you back in Milwaukee soon!
