Man o man, what a show. Seeing two of my favorite music makers EVER in the same spot - AND getting a great opening from Kings X. The only thing that could have made the show better was for DT and Satch to play longer. (And play at Sunrise musical theater like they did on G3 - which will never happen again, as a church bought the place and there are no more concerts there. #%^^%$%$$@#!!!It's just as good a venue as Pompano, but afterwards you can easily hang out back to see who comes out after the show. On the last G3, it was sweet - met Stu (2nd time), Sheehan, Virgil Donati, John Petrucci, Mike Portnoy, and Mr. Vai. MAN I am gonna miss that place....)

DT kicked total ass and Satch just ripped it up. I always miss STU when he's not there but Bissonette filled the gap nicely. Midnight live?!?!? SWEET! That was so great... I'd heard a rumor on the Mike Portnoy board from a guy in Cypress that Joe played it there so I had my hopes up... and wasn't dissapointed. Crushing Day was SO great and Joe opened with my favorite all-time song of his: Flying In A Blue Dream. He usually finds a way to fit it in each time I see him live and I am so thankful each and every time. I just love that song. Mindstorm and Seven String were amazing live - I would have LOVED for Joe to have played Oriental Melody but you take what you can get right? ;-)

Anyhow, someone asked about the setlist. This is what I remember: (no particular order except where noted)

Flying In A BLue Dream (opening song) Crushing Day The Crush of Love Mindstorm Seven String Satch Boogie Midnight Devil's Slide Summer Song Cool #9 Raspberry Delta Jam V The Mystical Potatohead Groove Thing Starry Night Friends (Encore)

I think that about covers it.

Joe - keep up the amazing work - you are the BEST.

I wasn't even going to post a review because I was very sick during the show. I think I had the measles. Anyways, here's what I remember. King's X said they came to kick our ass and they did. They are my second favorite band behind Joe. I love all Ty's solo stuff as well as the King's X stuff. They played Dogman,Lost In Germany, Cigarettes, Black Flag, It's Love, WWBTBL. The crowd was all smiles for the last tune. I'm not a huge fan of DT, but they really won me over. I've always disliked LaBrie's voice, but I have to give him credit, he's got one powerful set of vocal cords. DT was tight. I will stay for their entire set when they play the Toronto show. Satch was great as usual. It was disappointing to see the crowd thin out at the end of the night, but that is to be expected when you are playing with two other bands. I wished he'd pulled out more songs from the new album. I was leary of Galen, but he added to every song he played on. I love Jeff more and more every time I see him play. Joe, thank you for finally playing Crushing Day. Despite being sick as a dog, you pulled me out of my seat for it. Lately, I've been complaining about you not shaking up your set list and you put all that to rest for me. I'm primed for the Toronto show. I can't wait

Absolutley amazing! I knew who Dream Theater was, but I was never really a fan until I saw them tear up the stage... and when the guy from Iron Maiden came out to play soccer that was so funny! But the real jaw-dropper was Satch! He came out and from start to finish I couldn't get the smile off of my face. The sound was great and he played so many of his great peices and more! Mind Storm and Seven String sounded so great - as well as my fave, Raspberry Jam! Awesome show - come back soon!

Simply the best show i have ever been too in my entire life. I have never heard or seen anybody with as much energy and talent as Joe Satriani and Dream Theater. I stood at the rail post right in front of Joe's setup and the sound and atmosphere were amazing!! When Nicco from Iron Maiden came out during Dream's set was kick ass.I got my Maiden shirt signed by him so that was pretty cool too. It was my first time seeing Dream Theater and there is some much talent in that band that its sickning. John Petrucci just tore the stage up.But of course Satch is the man he just flew off in a blue dream when he came out, hes not only just the greatest guitar player of his time and mine but he is also a great guy.I gave this gig a big 10 because it was sure worth it!!!! And i mean it!!!
