As usual, Joe came with THE sound and gave us what we wanted ! And thanks a lot for the surprises like the two hands clean sound tapping tune Midnight. It rocks to hear it live !

I have been listening the music of Satriani for more than 10 years ... each album is an unique experience. Always difficult to integrate his new songs at the first listening but after 6~8 times, wouuuhh it sounds really great and powerful. Recently, I bought the DVD - Live in San Francisco, it was a great show. It was a shame that there was to few bonus on it (just 4 multi-angles songs and 10 min of "behind the scenes"). The J(oe) Day was coming ... my heart got excited. It was the first time that I met Satch in concert. First Track ... Flying ... some tears escape themselves form my eyes. After the emotions, let's rock ! The fist part was very powerful, but I was disappointed on 2 things : I have the impression to watch Live in San Francisco whereas he was in front of me: Same intro ... Same conclusions/finish. He could modify them just a little bit. His finish were sometimes too long and a bit annoying. Ok satch, U're a master in legato technique, but U used it each time and after 4 tracks ... it's sound the same thing. Think about the finish of "Friends" where you made an improvisation in Blues Tone, less than note, more than precision, subtility and feeling. The second part was better than the first (in my opinion), begining with midnight and the headless horsemen, cool, cool, cool !!!! Just 1 mistake on Raspberry Delta Jam V. To conclude, I really enjoyed this concert, his new album is various, free and cool. I wish I had meet him after the show. And I'll tell him 1 thing : Keep Eric Caudieux, I think he has bring you some fresh ideas for your arrangments and sounds. ^_^

As Joe was not coming in Belgium :o(, we went to Paris at the Olympia to attend the show of 7th July 2002. I was really amazed and happy that this concert hall sounds so good, much better than in big halls. The audience was a little bit too calm for my taste but as I was just at the balcony near the scene, I have shouted a lot...especially for headless horseman...héhé...remember that?... So, a big hand for Joe and his musicians, it was a great show, great songs, great people.I think people are not very nice telling Stu is better than Matt because I have seen Joe with both of them quite many times and, ok, Matt is less demonstrative, but you should have seen the gig in Netherlands, he did a great bass solo and proved he was a very nice bass player. Moreover, if you listen carefully to the songs live, and even if Matt is less extravagant, the bass guitar is more than groovy , always present and makes the songs sound very cooooool!!! So I think it's not fair at all to compare Stu and Matt and say who's better, I just feel that Matt is a great musician and really do a great job with Joe and the others. Congrats guys! C ya soon I hope...and don't forget Belgium this time, it will save my car's tyres ;op

It was the eighth time that I saw Joe in concert. Contrary to the EOC tour, he played more songs of the last album and these songs produce well on stage ! In the beginning, sound was not very good but it was better and better. In the exit I managed to give him a drawing of the album SBM, I hope that it pleases you and that you will keep it Joe !!! see you next time !!!

The same date, the same place, like two years ago, ... but the concert was different. First of all, Greg is a very good bass player, but not as good as Stu, and on stage Stu connects very easy with the audience. Let's talk about the sound quality, in the first part of the concert it was not very good. The new cd is very good, and the songs are very well played live, but ... I have to say that when the concert finished, the feeling was not as good as other times. Hope to see you soon in Europe again, Joe.

Everyone has had a great time, It seems that he will never stop getting better. As an aftershow winner I got him to sign my arm!!!!! Love you Joe.

Waaaaa.... First of all, even if the sound was not perfect during the first part of the show, we had a great time during the concert. The set list was the same as described for the first show.Once again Joe played like a master on the good old songs. New solos on Cool#9, Crush of Love, really cool versions of Why and so many other songs. It was a bit tougher for the new ones, because Joe had to do 3 voices in the meantime so it was sometimes hard to manage what he usually does on pieces he used to play for ten years on 4 monthes young songs.

I particullary appreciated Moutain song, the arrangement was really nice.

The show ended by a 15 minutes standing ovation !

I also had the luck to be invited to the backstage aftershow. Joe took the time to speak to everybody and was very kind. We spoke a few minutes about the album, the concert, and so many other things but I won't remember everything, it went too fast. I've got some pics and some great impressions. I'm just happy.

Thanks !

HMMMMMMMMMMM my god that was so beautiful ................. Like plenty of guys and GIRLS, it was the first time i saw Joe. I will never forget it. He'll never be one of the forgotten artists. He is a god and will ever live in us. The concert was beautiful even if the sound could have been better. I think Satch had some problems with the feedback. It seems as if it was hard for him. Anyway it was great. But no words exist to explain what feeling we have when he enter the scene. He looks so normal, like another guy. He is just very talentuous, sweet, nice. Thanx joe to made us dream every day, every time we listen to the beautiful sound of your guitar. Thanx to give us the love of the guitar, to push us, little guitarists, to play better and to work hard to learn your songs. Maybe one regret : STU. We love him so much. Joe we love you. Jeff you are soo good as usually.

It's been more than 15 years that i follow Satch in Paris..each time that he plays in Paris i'm already there .. I was at the first show that he gave in Paris in the 'elysée montmartre' in flying in a blue dream tour ... A first think that should be said is that he stayed as cool as he was a the first time that i saw him...Except for his hair cut LOL !!! I enjoyed a lot the last show cause it was not very easy for joe to play in a room with sits where evryone lay down on them...and he manage to make everybody movin' and feeling the music at the end of the show ... bye taking a lot of of old songs like 'rubina's blue sky hapiness', 'the extremist' or 'midnight' or 'crush of love'..he showed us that it was not here only to promote the last album ' strange beautiful music' and that all those songs means a lot to him.... He introduced us his news guitars ...pretty cool !!!! ....the performance last 2 hours maybe 2 hours and a half ( i've not looked my watch :o). ). there were a break during the show who last 15 minutes ...when joe came back he was sittin' on a chair alone with his guitars and his sweety face he played some tapping songs and ended the ' relax session' with ' i believe' with the other guys ..... the show ended with 'friends', joe seemed to be very enthousiast and touched by us .... The bass pleyer and the rythm guitars where good and as usally jeff campitelli played nice as it has done for the 3 tours before that he has played with joe ..... To conclue he showed one more time that playing the guitar is an experience not only playing notes and scales in locrian mode at 200 on a neck but feelin' the music and feelin' the audience is from far the most important ....

There are not enough words !!!! This gig was wonderful . It was the first time I saw Joe so I am still under the shock . I think there is no guitarist like joe ( my god) Furthermore playing songs like Midnight , The headless horsemen and I believe was a very good idea . The nice sound of joe's guitar on Midnight makes me thrill. So I thank joe for for this sweet gig. I have another dream : Meeting joe , but ..... I am also looking for some photographs taken from this gig , my email is lalh@free.fr and it may be very pleasant to send me someones please. thanx for all

WoW So great. The most famous songs with some changes and some songs that Joe wasen't used to play live like Midnight. Songs from the new album sound great with the 7 string and the double neck. This man is a god

On the 8th of July, 2002, at the olympia hall of Paris, something miraculous happened : four angels came on earth to give us their wisdom. For almost three hours, they took us away to Heaven. At about midnight, their leader came out, how could he be so real, so close to us ? He wrote some signs on our tickets with a kid's smile on his face before flying away with Rubina and ZZ. It was then time for us to sleep and dream ...... When I woke up this morning, I had a strange feeling inside my heart. I could just say : I miss you Joe ..... My regards to you and your little family Didz

Well, just one word : AWSOME !

not like Benoit, I really think it was great show. Maybe it is due to my lack of knowledge ... it was my first time seeing Joe and band playing live, and I have to say that it really was great !

Before that, I had never seen Jeff, and I could not understand why Gregg Bisonnette was not Joe's drummer ... but now I know. It was really nice to see the power of Jeff's drums ... in complete accordance with Joe's guitar ! A revelation to me :)

About Joe ... well, he was just the God I always thought he was. Making a guitar so sensitive ... well, few men on Earth can do it I guess. I am not expert enough to say if his play was full of feelings, but what I saw, is a fantastic guitar player in complete accordance with its tool ... so what do we need more ?

Nice gig men ! Really, it was something magical for me ... I wish I had backstage access !

It was a wonderful show, I was at the olympia in the first ranks ans I saw Joe playing near of me. Furthermore, there was a break during 20' And I could get up to drink and discuss of this first haughtiness part. The 2nd part was more relaxing because he began with slow musics but, when he started "Surfing With The Alien" all the people shouted Joe and when the music finished, we were all up and applauded him until he finished he's show. At the surprise, he cames a last time, because we wanted that he comes again and he said " Thank U Very Much" and he played "Satch Boogie" and "Friends" and he said "You R Fantastic Than U". It's damage which I don't had an aftershow (it was one of my dreams, but we don't asking too much;-) , may be the last time ). Since the time when I wanted to see him in concert! Because I had missed him 2 years ago. Besides, he made is show on July 8th 2000, that is 2 years to the day! Terrible not! SlayX a Big Fan & Forever SATCH

Wonderfull, I had the chance to see Joe before the show We were 4 people waiting for him on th back door, he arrived at 19h45, and he signed our tickets. The show was great, specially for the new songs But I prefer Stu Hamm on the bass.........

Great trousers, Joe !! That was probably the best part of the show ... Yes, I was really disappointed with this show. Except for the new songs (which translate really well into live pieces), and the beginning of the second set, the setlist was pretty boring, the solos uninspired, the musicians enthousiasm poor, Joe's communication with the audience poor ... And the sidemen could have been better ... the rhythm guitar player is ok, but ... Matt Bissonnette !?!?! He's not half the bassist and showan Stuart is !! Come on Joe, you could have done far better ... Well, I do realize that it is only the beginning of the tour, but all in all, it was a somewhat dull and disappointing performance, and the worst Joe Satriani show I've seen so far. Did your inspiration dissapeared with your hair ???
