The show opened up on time w/ Paul Gilbert doing his amazing ability to shred like almost no other. What I have always liked about Gilbert is his stage presense and how he seems to connect with the crowd. His set was longer than I expected and I was thrilled about that. Also the fact that he played some Racer X tunes w/ sidekick Bruce Bouliet not missing a note was the highlight of the set. Then came John Petrucci whom I had seen on last years G3 and was utterly amazed as always. His set was almost like having his CD playing in my car. All the tunes were from his solo debut. Mike Portnoy as always never missed a beat and is the master of timing in my book. Then as of this wasnt enough, Joe Satriani came on and was just awesome. I will be honest nd say that I am not that familiar with his newer tunes but I definitely liked what I heard. The medley at the end of the night was just the icing on the cake. Definitely a show not to be missed. I cant wait to see what line-up Joe will bring next time. A standing ovation from Miami to you all.

I would have to say that this is the best G3 I've seen!! Here is the setlist: War One Big Rush Flying In A Blue Dream Cool #9 Super Colossal Satch Boogie Circles The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing Surfing With The Alien Always With Me Always With You (with John Petrucci joining in at the end, then Paul Gilbert a few leads later) Begin G3: Foxy Lady Purple Haze (ending with beginning of Voodoo Chile) Goin' Down Jumpin' Jack Flash What a show!! Phenominal talent! Phenominal show! thanks guys!
