Eric was great, never seen him before, Joe rocked. roseland sucked! i was really disappointed to see a crappy seating chart, and a bunch of drunk dumb asses running around, and people that sit down like they are 89 years old through a concert shouldnt be at one. general admission in the roseland rocks and if you want to sit go upstaris to the balcony. seating charts should not be enforced, or used for that matter and the good old standing days should be returned. other than that i dont want to sound like a wet noodle but the show rocked and Joe was right on...

Great show...Satch does not disappoint once again. I've seen him at least 15 times and this was one of the best. This was one of those times where he was completely ON and his technique was flawless. Also his tone was great, must be the new Peavey amps. Sounded a little muddy last time I saw him at the House of Blues in LA. Dave LaRue on bass is a great addition. And all the jamming they did between/during tunes was a real treat. The new CD's material sounded amazing.

JOE, Thanks so much for hanging out with us after the show for a bit. It means to world to Wanda and I. You are so genuine and compassionate, it really helps to just be in your presence. Have a great vacation and good luck in europe.

And thanks to Galen for lining up the Aftershow passes and to Jeff for hanging out with us for a while too.

For not having seen Eric Johnson b4, it was a nice surprise, he seemed to loosen up and liven up with the 3rd song, the vocals were a bit muddy, but the music was fine. He mentioned a new song that they played again vocals were muddy but the music was real good.

Then came the main entree, it was nice to hear the old songs, really liked the new ending for Always, been listening to it since 89', so the change up was a treat, the last 2 shows he's done the new ending but last night was extremely bitchin, I really appreciated the new songs, Joe was really on for the new songs, it could be they've been playing together for what like 2 months now, MADE OF TEARS was my favorite of the night. I want to thank the redhead in section B row D seat like 6 or seven, right in front of me one seat over, I THANK YOU for making it a fun song to watch you, she started swaying with the song, real slow like the song, and as Joe kept building the tempo she kept going right along with it, and when Joe had reached the max tempo for the song, this girl was kinda swaying and more like hoping from side to side, it was both enjoyable to watch her doing it as much as it just tickled me I started laughing outloud because I could feel her enjoyment and the state of mind she was in by this point. IT WAS NOTHING SEXUAL, I'm not to sure on the chair thing at the Roseland, after standing in line for 2 hours and still hoping to be upfront it didn't happen, but Row E section B was like 10 feet from the stage, and as a satch fan said a couple years ago, I can see Joe, and Joe can see me. I Hope there some Evening with Joe shows later this fall, cause I most definitely need me a bigger SATCH FIX, As always Joe, a fan of your gift and music BLUE BUFFALO aka Fernando#13

When you have ERIC JOHNSON for an opening act, you know you are in for a great show. Props to EJ for playing some good stuff. Trademark and Cliffs of Dover were awesome to hear. To the fat woman behind me that wouldn't shut up during his solo intro to Cliffs, I fart in your general direction...Now on to Joe

It was awesome to see Joe play again and was the first time my girlfriend has seen him play in person. Highlights for me were Flying in a Blue Dream, Red Shift Riders, One Robots Dream, Circles, and ESPECIALLY Always with me/you. Many people have already mentioned the new ending of Always in their posts, and their words fail to convey just how awesome that new ending is. Hearing the new ending conveyed a since of victory, acheivement, and accomplishment. Words really don't do it justice. If Joe were to re-release this song with the new ending, he'll finally get that Grammy. If not, the people who vote for those things should be shot.

I do have two beefs about the show, hence the 9 instead of a 10. One is the lack of music from the past 3 albums. The 2nd...and I'll ruffle the feathers of a few fans here....I just think there are a few too many extended solos at the end of some of the songs. Don't get me wrong, I love to hear improvising and it is a treat to hear the songs differently than the manicured studio versions. There just seems to me an opportunity at the end of a song where the crowd is ready to explode and cheer...and some of these extended solos almost seem to take the breath out of the crowd. It's like a flame that burns hot, and then burns itself out because it runs out of fuel. I actually for the first time in 10 years found myself being board at a Satch Concert during a few of these extended songs. I personally would like to see a few less extended solo's, and about 3-4 more songs. Especially when the set list is already shortened because of an opening act.

Viewed from up on the balcony, by one of the spotlight operators, Eric's set was quite enjoyable, but the mix was a bit off (bass dominating, overall lack of clarity and punch, vocals were not audible). Eric coaxes an immense, warm tone out of his Marshall stack, and that sound beamed out, regardless of the PA system.

Joe's show seemed to transcend music, or at least the tools and techniques of music, to arrive at a higher plane. The sound problems were fixed by the start of Joe's set, so clarity, punch, and balance were all there. Making it seem as effortless as breathing, all the band members were spot on. The song selection was great fun.

"Cliffs of Dover" and "Always With Me, Always With You" still take me right back to the "good old days!" Big-time thank you to all the band members in both groups.

I have one MAJOR complaint ............SEATS AND THE PEOPLE WHO SIT IN THEM DURING A ROCK AND ROOL CONCERT................. If sitting down and relaxing is what you are looking for then stay home and listen to the stereo and let us REAL concert fans show the artists how much we love it live!!! Joe, you really tweeked your style for the show, I have been to 12 Satriani shows and I know Joe live. Last night in Portland your JSX sounded superb and all your solos seemed to have changed a bit. Is this my imagination or what? Ten Words and Circles kicked ASS!!

Lovin you guys......Big Time! These dudes know how to rock I tell ya,what a 4 piece! To start Eric was great, better than usual & was really focused.2 shows to go focused.Amazing kid on bass & Tommy Taylor has always had Eric's back, sweet drummer indeed. Now to the boys,I gave it a 9 only because 2 hrs. is to damn quick. But what a set,a good taste of Super with all the old school favorites(Look out Europe)Galen solid as a rock & looking like one too,a more than satisfing rhythm player.Dave played like a trooper & is a perfect fit with the band,I would like to hear more of him in the future. And Jeff......good ol Jeff, what can you say everybody loves Jeff! All you have to do is listen or look,Jeff is a drummer I have always admired & stole licks from, the man has chops!(plus is a hell of a down to earth nice guy)Joey,Portland loves you man, but I think you already knew that.Great show great crowd & everybody will know the words to Crowd Chant next time I promise. So until your guys next time through the Rose city thanks ALWAYS for a great night of fun & kick ass on the shows to come!!Thanks again & hope to see you guys very soon...................this show was really a 10!

AMAZING!! Eric & Crew came out and put on an awesome opening set. It's the first time I've ever seen Mr. Johnson look like he was actually having fun instead of just playing the guitar. Phenomenal show. Opened with Zap, played a killer version of Manic Depression, SRV and many others. Chris Maresh & Tommy Taylor backing him up were incredibly tight. Sound was excellent....Now on to Joe....FREAKIN' AMAZING!!! Opened with Flying in a Blue Dream. The biggest highlight for me was how nice it was to hear him and the guys have fun jamming instead of just going through the songs one after next. From the outset they were very relaxed and played "extended" versions of quite a few songs which was refreshing. Took my father in law to the show, he was totally blown away.Jeff Campitelli is a DRUM MONSTER. Dave LaRue kept up with Joe just fine and kinda reminded me of the ol' days with Stu. All in all, money well spent. Show started right on time at 8:00pm, 3 hrs & 45 minutes later Joe was wrapping things up with Summer Song. Seen Joe 3 times now and this was by far the best show.
