Joe as always was great!! The other band something Heart, I believe - I did not like at all - they totally sucked. When Joe went off and they came back on I was totally shocked - it was like it was thier show and not Joe's. That was a disappointment. I wish Joe would have played longer. I missed his last show in Chicago in the beginning of December, I had surgery so I could not attend, I had to give my tickets away - I'm sure he was fabulous!! My score is for Joe, not the other band!! And the only reason I only gave an eight is because I felt he should have played at least a half hour to forty-five minutes longer!! Otherwise Joe is always a ten.

Joe was great as always, but a little disappointed on the amount of time he played maybe 45 min. to an hour, the bright side I found a new band I liked Dream Theater.

This was a truly amazing night. I am a huge Satch fan and a huge Dream Theater fan, and both were rockin, and the venue was great! My friends and i were sitting 2nd row dead center. I love the Rosemont Theater, its great sound and there is AC!!! Anyway, King's X opened up, I hadn't heard them before, and they definitely impressed me. Very talented band and very good songwriting, I thought. Joe came on and tore it up, let me tell you. He even played Midnight, which was a hell of a surprise. I must say, although he put on a wonderful show, I have one complaint, and it is a general complaint, not really about this specific show: almost every Satriani show is identical. It is true. He plays pretty much the same tunes at every show. He had a short set here and couldnt fit in "Surfin'", but I've seen Joe a couple times and each time he plays pretty much the same tunes. It's great every time, but I do wish he'd vary it up a little. Anyway, I was lucky enough to win After show passes, so after his set I went up to meet him with my friend Brian. He's just a class act, what a great guy. He makes you feel like he is just totally a normal guy and your friend. We took pictures with him and talked with him a little, it was a blast. I got downstairs just in time to see Dream Theater. Now I saw Dream Theater one night in March, when they covered the entire Master of Puppets album, and it was one of the best concerts I have been to. I also saw G3 last year, so this show was my 3rd time seeing Petrucci. He is amazing. Anyway... Dream Theater stole the show, I thought. I mean, Satriani is always on, but the thing about Dream Theater is that they vary their setlist for every show! They are like a jamband in that way. They don't even have one song that they play every time. It is different every time, and they are so entertaining. This was one of the best sets of music I have heard in my life. The energy was there, they were all completely into it and having a great time. In the medley they even teased a Rush tune (I think it was Working Man, I'm not sure, but it was sweet). Petrucci and Myung started kicking a soccer ball around while they were playing, it was really funny. Anyway, I honestly think Dream Theater's set was more interesting than Satch's, but Satch's was great too! Midnight was a great touch! The whole show I give an A+++ I have seen a lot of different bands live, but this was definitely one of the best shows I have attended. The only shows I have been to that compare to this one are the 3/16/02 Dream Theater show I mentioned and maybe the 6/6/02 Trey Anastasio Band show that I went to. THIS WAS A GREAT SHOW!!! If anybody has a recording of it, contact me at AquariusWB@aol.com I would definitely like to hear it. Thanks, peace guys, rock on joe

Great show. I was a bit disappointed that Joe didn't do to many new ones, I've seen him before and I was hoping to see more new stuff. Midnight was great though, i've always wanted to see him play that. God, Dream Theater is hard to watch live. Besides being in absolute awe, I got a headache just from moving my eyes around from Petrucci, to Myung, to Portnoy Rudess and LeBrie. They do so much I can't keep up. It was cool as hell to see them kick the soccerball around, and that 20 minute Dream Theater Medley. It would have kicked more ass to see them do Home or The Glass Prison. And how come all the satch fans here hate everyone else Joe tours with? At G3 people are ripping Vai down because they don't like this or that. People seem to follow joe so devotedly that they never think why Joe is touring with them in the first place!

An amazing show. Joe was on as always and Dream Theater rocked. Way to go Joe! Crushing Day was magnificent! I am adding to this review in response to a newer review I read. It seems like someone didn't stick around for Dream Theater, and they missed a great show...too bad for them.

Wow, Joe was really on tonight. Sounded great at the Rosemont Theater. I Drove all the way from Minneapolis to see him and was not dissapointed. Kings X and Dream Theater sounded great as well. As if Joe's set was not good enough, Dream Theater came out and tore the roof off of the place! Best live show I have ever seen. I was really glad to see Joe play Crushing Day live, it sounded great, as did the rest of his set. Joe always looks like he's having the time of his life up on stage and it makes him really fun to watch.

I'm really glad that I also got the chance to meet Joe at the after show. It was really a dream come true. He was really a class act, it seemed as though Joe was more happy to meet us than we were to meet him, what a great guy! Thanks Joe!

P.S. I hope someone finds the jerk who stole your guitar in Florida.

Hey Joe, thank you for the enjoyable evening. I have seen you back in the Extremist days and the Rosemont is definitely better than the Riv !!! My wife and I brought our 5 year old Ethan to the show and he is a REAL BIG fan of yours. We were on the right and had the wall aisle seat so he was against the wall playing his air guitar matching you lick for lick ;-) I also appreciated the extended jams on the songs, it seemed like you were really having a good time. Thanks again Joe. Please take care on the rest of your tour.

This concert was great! The best concert I ever attended! Joe was awesome. Every song he played was note for note off the album. John Pettrucci totally rocked the night! My ears are still buzzing! I guarantee everyone that you won't leave any Joe Satriani or Dream Theater concert disapointed! These guys truly are the best guitar players in the World. Thanks for such a great concert Joe and John!

Thanks for an awesome performance Joe!! This was my first satch gig and my first real concert..and Joe made it great!! Joe played perfectly of course.....and he was very charismatic on stage too!! My reason for giving the show a 9,,,stems from my only complaint which was that at certain times I couldn't really hear Joe's guitar. Now, I was sitting way on the right side of the stage (left, if u were facing the stage),,,and I think that the bass guitar was coming out of those speakers....b/c the bass seemed really loud and at times the bass and drums seemed to drown out Joe's guitar. This was even more evident during King's X set....where I couldn't even decipher one word of the lyrics.....and I could barely hear the lead guitar. I only really cared about Joe's performance though...and despite this minor issue...Joe tore it up!! As for Dream Theater...I went up to the balcony to see if it would be better from up there...and it was a little easier to hear the lead guitar from there,,,,,but I left after about 2/3 of their set. They are extremely talented...(the thing w/ the soccer ball was interesting) and Petrucci was on fire with his solos....but that singer just ruins it for me. I'm sure he's a nice guy...but the Queensryche/Judas Priest type howling just doesn't work for that band. Also, since I own nothing by King's X or Dream Theater....I didn't know many of their songs...and it was a lot harder than I thought it would be to get into their sets and hear all the intricate details of their songs. I think it's best for Joe's fans when he performs in either the "Evening With.."..or "G3" formats. Nonetheless.....Joe rocked..and all the performers displayed some wicked chops!!!

I've seen quite a few of Satriani shows and they are alway great, this one was no exception. One of the nicest venues I've seen him at, although is sure would be nice to be able to have a drink while watching, but I guess air conditioning more than makes up for that. I also wish it was a bit louder, compared to his other shows it seemed a bit toned down to me. I have to agree that Joe should have closed all the shows, as I don't see Dream Theater as equal to Joe. Anyway, I had a great time and it was nice to finally have Joe play in a place that I was able to bring my 8 year old (who is a die hard fan) to see him live. Actually, having Joe play second probably made his night, as he heard the Dream Theater he wanted to leave. Said they sang too much!! Anyway, great show and can't wait till you come to Chicago again (same venue would be great)!!

This is the fourth time I've seen Joe and once again he put on a great show! King's X is an awesome band I've seen them twice before. Unfortunately they've sounded better and they only got to play a half hour? What's up with that! Joe came on kicked butt and played a good mix of his tunes. As usual flawless. The only complaint would be no "Surfing" or "Big Bad Moon", and the set was only an hour and twenty minutes? Then again when you have three bands that's what you get. Dream Theater put on a great show as well. I have to say to Joe, the band and management great choice in Rosemont Theater. That place was absolutely beautiful. I've been to almost all the major venues in the Chicago land area and I've never heard better acoustics anywhere. Awesome place to see a show. Joe make that place a mainstay whenever you come to Chicago (please no Aragon Ballroom or Rivera).

While it was nice to see Joe, I am suprised that he was on so early. How many people left after Joe? Who did everyone come to see? It sure was not Dream Theater. Who just put a new album and is promoting it? I was under the impression that I bought a Joe Satriani ticket and he was going on after 2 opening bands who probably should be lucky to even be on tour. Thanks Joe, I made it home by 9pm.

Joe rocked the house as usual. It was a pleasure to listen to some oldies like "The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing", "Crushing Day" and "Cool #9". "Midnight" was a great touch. The venue was an excellent choice. Thanks to Joe & the Band and the rest of the crew for making this event a memorable one.
