Joe: I've recently finished your new album, but what can be said that hasn't been said? My breath has been taken away at the sheer brilliance of it all. You've still got it, old man. You've still got it. *L*

can only handle about one song at a time. too much of a banquet to listen to more than a few minutes at a time. could never, ever stand one of your concerts. sometimes you are just too overwhelming to take, not that it isn't appreciated, just that it boggles my little soul. hope that you are well, booboo.

Yayogakk: Couldn't agree with you more. The fact that someone can play fast, or play 32nd note sweep arpeggios (Yngwie, anyone???...) doesn't necessarily make them good. If they are creative, good examples being Vai and Sarch, that's all that matters. Sometimes it can be one single well placed note that stands out rather than in your face shred. Frank Zappa - a prime example. His death is a tragedy, but what he left behind, is astounding. So, to sum it all up, your comments, Hendrix, make you sound both foolish and childish. Get over the fact that someone can play very fast and look at the stuff that matters: the notes.

Hey Joe.. I have been listening to your music sonce i was 4 years old and now I'm 15 and a guitar player for 6 years now.. Back form the day of the long car rides between houses .. Well anyways here's what I have to say abotu your music Joe..It fing rocks Joe.. I remember the first timelistened to you music it was crushing day from you album Srufing With The Alien... And I have loved everyone of your albums.. I havent met someone who has listened and loved you music as much as I have.. And the soun don you new CD is very foreign for me. I was stunned when I listened the new CD.. I had grown so used to and loved the style of you playing the guitar.. always the guitar was the most emphasized in all your previous albums. In "Engines of Creations" it was more techno. Now I have never been a fan of techno. But on the new cd I found some really kick ass songs. Like Flavor Crystal 7, or Until We Say Goodbye.track 8, sorry dont have cd with em to remember song name.. and finally Slow and Easy.. Which for some reason made me think about all the real things that matter in life.. On everyone one of your CD's you have alwasy had a slow song that made me want to cry. i;m gonan name them from first CD to last.. 1.Crush of Love 2.Always With Me, Always With You 2.Rubina 3.I Believe 4. Cryin' 5.(You're)My World 6. All Alone & Thinking of You 7. Love Thing 8. Until We Say Goodbye These are all in order form first album to last. Now Joe Plz I beg of you the next time you make a album. Plz have the guitar style and the sound of the music similari to the way you made Surfing With The Alien, Not OF This Earth, Flying In A Blue Dream and The Extremist. Well good luck to you Joe and godspeed. With love and respect, Derek Sanders of Illinois

WEll ... Joe after having listened "really listened" ... to your new album ... Im still astonished .. that you can "scope" the sound! ... You know what you want and how you want it ... "i take my hat off" - as we say here ... I respect it fully!!! Your sound reflects, well off the walls of the up-beat tempo, that you have been longing to do for ages ... I KNOW !!! :) ... You really have the dynamics ... along with the melodic sequences on your compositions. My theory of this album ... is that ... I think you´ve had fun making it ... Its far more progressive than your "usual" compositions ... :) I think that Eric Caudieux really ... enjoyed working with you and vice versa ... - You both "feeded" each other with special inputs ... favorizing ... the MUSIC as a whole!- Please have in mind ... I LOVE LOVE LOVE ... your prior work ... to its MAXIMUM! Your 4th song on your new CD "untill we say goodbye" is almost my favourite ...! But I have still longed for "THIS" ... that you´ve managed to produce ... -so d#mn fast- Its unbeleivable ... :) hehehehe ... again again ... -nice work- "thumbs up" Be thankfull You have an understanding family!!! :) ... They give the last edge one needs to fullfill such an "experimental" album as THIS !!! - ThankYou!!! - Joe ... When all comes to all ... You´ll always be my man ... "#10 Slow and Easy ... Well ... it speaks for itself ... but for heavens sake ppl ... listen listen LISTEN_ !!! Cant you all hear it ... Its the sound of the gods ... under a heavy rain. You really ... managed to create an ambience I´ve forgotten since "who knows" ... WOW ... It´s allllll in the "fingers" Good work Joe ... may You always have this "wealth" that you have ... to "create" such music .. that inspires most of us ... and lets us "expire" once again ...! *aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh* -Thankyou- ... The best of wishes to You and Your family ... from Morty in Denmark. aftermath@adr.dk

Joe, do you remember about a year ago, you asked us "web site fans" if we knew of any cool software for the PC? ... I remember now that I replied to the question and recommended Steinberg's "Re-Birth" program for making drum and bass loops. I was a little surprised after reading your article in guitar world yesterday, when you said you actually used the "re-birth" program.. Not that it's important, but I was just wondering if you got the idea from this web site.. are you still writing much music with the computer lately?

Joe, just out of curiosity. what music and what artists do you listen to when you need to mellow out? What songs give you a shiver down your spine and send you into your own world? I had to ask. By the way, do you still keep incontact with Kirk Hammett? Out of all the material I have read on both you and him, neither of you talk about the other much. Take care, yours Pete Hawthorne. :)

FYI - Alvin posted a comment about Satch going the same way as Paul Cipro. I have the two albums Cipro put out in 80 and 81 - and yes, it was experimental, heavy, guitar instrumental stuff... When he put out 'Prozac Superman' in 91 (?) if flopped - but not because he went 'techno' but because he went pop! He added vocals, and changed his style totally. Satch has incorporated techno into his new CD - not 'gone' techno. There's no comparison - and Cipro was really an unknown during his 'heyday' - Satch can do whatever he wants and people will respect and buy it. Give this CD another listen - or a few more listens...

Joe, I saw your interview in the May issue of Guitar World. It was great. I just have one question. How can you say that you don't hear any of yourself in the playing of Kirk Hammett and Larry LaLonde? I don't hear it much, but I do hear little snippets of their solos sometimes that tell me, "Yup, that guy was taught by Satriani."

I think I like it so much because it reminds me of some of the video games I used to really enjoy playing, since the music in them was a lot like the music on your new cd. Hi Joe, I'm from Bombay,India and really think you are the best guitarist around. I have every single album of yours including your work on Merry Axemas-1. Of all i like Crystal Planet and Surfing with the alien the best (although i think your best work ever has been on crystal planet). I was in NYC in mid-march and bought EOC (i was disappointed that i could not get the bonus CD though). After listening to the album i have the following to say: I am not a techno fan at all, infact i hate techno and dance music, your playing is very good as usual but i would not say this is a 'pure guitar album'...maybe that is what you were trying to do, come out with something different (i think you have guts to do so). Anyway, coming back to what i was saying, i think this album is very entertaining on the whole and the electronic beats in the background are not too bad. All in all a good JS album but not something i would recommend for a first-time JS listener to pick up.EOC surely is an album which grows on you. My favourite songs are Flavor Crystal 7 and Power cosmic 2000-part 2. You sure do rock man. PLEASE plan a tour to India, it would great to see you live.

That album is incredible, and every song on it, is unique and awwe inspiring. You should do an acoustic album, but one of real somber guitars and lots, and lots of delay, reverb and echo. Hey Joe, First time poster, longtime reader. I love the new album. I love all your albums. The melodies you dream up speak right to my heart. My favorite tracks on the new album are The Power Cosmic 2000 Part 1 and Part 2. Add me to the list of people who tried hard to find the "Additional Creations" bonus CD but failed. It'd be really cool if you could some MP3's of those tracks on your web page. Also, add me to the list of people who desperately want you to come to Ohio, Cleveland preferably. Anywhere in western Pennsylvania, say Pittsburgh would be great too. I've been trying to find friends who would be willing to do a road trip to Chicago or DC (the closest places to Cleveland that you're coming), but that will be too expensive and time consuming for us poor busy college students. Joe, I tell my friends that I, "NEED TO SEE JOE". I have to see how you make these wonderful sounds come from a guitar. Please come to this area of the country! I saw Steve Vai when he came to Cleveland on his Ultra Zone tour and I was blown away. I love hearing people play electric guitars! I'm sure seeing you would be even better!!

Joe: Dude I have been a fan for so many years I can't even remember. You have truely been an insperation and I just want to thank you. I've been a student of music for fifteen years or so, both formal and through osmosis. Now I'm 29, I have a wonderful family and a job that pays the bills. For the last year I have hardly practiced. This is the first time in my life I haven't had the time to do what I truely love. I've developed a pactice that keeps me in shape but I haven't had the time to compose. This period of my life has taought me to appriciate much of the music/guitarists that I would be so critical of in the past. I had only liked players that spent their mind, body and soul for the total whole of guitar. Guys like you and steve. Now I realize that evn billy squire is good. I know in a way like I've never known, the love of music. This last year is likebeing away from your kids, be it oranges to apples, but none the less heart wrenching. I do hope this e-mail passes your eyes, in my world it would mean alot. I've gotten real good at my instrument, allmost like a good jazz horn player, but never was able to find the musicians to form a great thing. God has given talent but not much luck. I've gotta go, my daughters on my lap wanting to touch everything. Thanks Joe.

TIME FOR A FRESH PAGE JOE! I have a question that I would dearly love answered. I have heard many musicians say that they do not like to listen to other musicians for fear of subliminal plagerism. Now I had read one of your posts Joe that said EoC was straight from your heart, I also like the marriage of the technology with sound. My question is this: Do you or have you ever listened to Buckethead? I fell in love with Monsters And Robots first, EoC has a similar flavor for me, then I got Colma, holy macaroni. Boyz got mad skillz! Just thought that you would also like his material. Keep on keeping on Joe! (p.s. drew..I'm sure my increased finger speed and strength will be appreciated. Do you reckon I should learn the harmonica to improve lip/tongue co-ordination? I was in London yesterday and, hidden away in the video section of the large Virgin store there, I found the videos "Joe Satriani" and "The Satch Tapes". Call me ill-informed, but I didn't even know they existed! Can you imagine my excitement..it was like discovering an unreleased test pressing or acetate of an early Joe song. I've just finished watching them both back to back, and it was a wonderful experience. I'm quite a fan of Larry Carlton and when I saw the bassist on "J.S" (Nathan East) I thought 'hey, he looks familiar'. I rummaged through my cd collection, and there he was in Four Play, with Larry Carlton. Small world, the music industry, isn't it? But then, at the end of "The Satch Tapes", a discography is given and the earliest disc shown, obviously released before SWTA, is an album with a white cover and just the name Joe Satriani shown on the front. Underneath, the dread words 'this record no longer available'. WHAT IS IT ??? I presume it consists of some of the earlier tracks subsequently released on Time Machine (eg Banana Mango, I Am Become Death etc) but I need to know. Can one of the more clued up fans tell me, please. Also, what sort of price are dealers asking for a copy? Finally, do any of the fan sites have a complete discography, including albums that Joe has worked on. I'm especially intrigued by a reference made to work Joe did with Deep Purple..have I got that right and, if so, did anything ever get committed to vinyl? Thanks in advance for any answers.

Good evening Mr. Satriani. Yes it is I the Idaho guy. Thanks alot for not including me in your promotional bonus cd deal. Guess us the less populated areas don't count. We just get the back burner. Spare the TMJ's and cut a new path. How about a box set Joe one that would include that bonus cd. Of course I'm not gonna buy a box set because I have every other cd you relesed including the import job. Oh I'll bet you have a Box set in the works including a video tape and some previously unrelesed stuff too. Include a comic book of joe/silver surfer that would be novel. charge 75$ for it for the thin sub-standard cd bundle (Not that the recording or the material would be sub-standard, no that will be a Digitaly remasterd from the origial tapes standard "Break out those spectrum analizers take a look at the head room")to collect dust because they are a been there done that thing. just a sour note thanks for not including us in the deal joe.

Hey Joe. What's up? I'm sending this message to let you know you've influenced me and my guitar playing SO much. I play a lot of your older songs, especially off the extremist and surfing with the alien. Whenever I play it for people they go crazy, they especially like "satch boogie" , something about that song that people click with. Of course, I am not as good as you, but I practice your work hours and hours a day, almost religiously...Learning your songs, or attempting to for that matter, has turned me into a better guitar player, I have a new found respect for this kind of music. I even have a school talent show comin up soon and I plan on playin' one of your songs for it! No doubt I will win the show with that :)

Drew: I'm sorry to say, but your comments about Satch's Extremist album resembling punk, or alternative rock is worng. The Extremist(the song)has more than 3 chords in its progression, and is not in a typical alternitive key, therefore is no where near alternitive rock. Also, Summer Song is no where near punk, because it's progression is not a 1-3-5 chordal progression, and it switches to a minor key at certain parts.

Scoot- yeah, and your girlfriend will love you for the added finger strength ;-) YAYO- You're gonna hate me for saying this, but the Extremist has a lot in common with Alternative rock, stylistically and tonally. I'd be willing to place a good amount of money on the fact that Satch was atleast aware of bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, the Smashing Pumpkins, and so on. Hell, the melody in the extremist sould almost be a soundgarden guitar solo. Do any of these bands have half the talent joe does? no. but that doesn't mean he couldn't have been influenced by them. Also, i still insist, between the chord progressions, the drum beat, and the melody, "Summer song" is pure punk rock, and that's been around on and fof since the 70's. that by no means says i don't think satriani isn't inovative or i don't like the album (the extremist is my favorite album of his), but don't just assume that just because he's extremely creative doesn't mean he wasn't influenced by other bands that were popular at the time.

Hi, Joe, and hi! to ev'ryone in the fan-club! I'm new here. I didn't listen the new Satch record yet, because here in Romania is hard enough to find quickly the newest releases on the world guitarplaying market, and I'm so sorry about it! I'll listen to the MP3 samples from the WebSite to have an idea about how it's done... Anyway, "Crystal Planet" was great, especially 'A Train Of Angels' and 'Up In The Sky'!!! I'm playing the guitar too, but not that close to the "perfection"... And I "touched" some parts of Satch songs that I like so much. But my poor quality guitar sounds so bad! This is not cool. When can we find Satch TABs on this site? It's really difficult to "take them up" all by myself, so I'd need to find them somewhere. If someone has the TABs of "Why" or "Echo" or "Memories", please send it to me! Thanx!

Joe, some of the things that people say here are ridiculous. Why doesn't everyone stick to the theme of music? Jeez. Anyway, I have a few more suggestions for your next G3 tour. How about Al de Meola? Or John McLaughlin? Jeff Beck? Stanley Jordan - especially this guy! He is the 'tapper' of jazz guitarists!! Anyway, I know that may be a little too jazzy for your tastes, but the musicianship would be phenominal! (Not that Steve Vai or Eric Johnson aren't good) Just thought it would be a neat change. Looking forward to see you perform in VANCOUVER, CANADA. (Of course, just like everyone else, I would be in seventh heaven if you could sign a cd for me.) See ya...

Hi Joe!!! Just bought your new album and...hmm, where to begin, actually I really HATE techno and techno-like sounds. Gary Moore and Steve Hacket got thru with it, and Gary's Techno-Blues was quite fine, in most parts. But gee, when I first listened to your new album in the store (in spite of this Gary Moore-Techno-Thing I was a little bit prejudiced, as I'll always be when it comes to Techno, even when Satch puts his fingers on it) I really was bursting!!! That was really great, and I never heard something like this before!!! It's the first time I really love this combination!! All of the tracks are great, but I like especially DEVIL'S SLIDE, FLAVOR CRYSTAL 7, THE POWER COSMIC 2000-PART I and CHAMPAGNE?(wow, THAT is a Blues!!!). When I listen to the record it seems there is total harmony inside the music...well, sometimes it does not, sometimes there seems to be a fight between Techno and the guitar, and fortunately for all of us (sorry, ravers!!!), the guitar wins!! I really appreciate this moments full of tension, it makes EOC much better than CRYSTAL PLANET. What I'd like to know, will there be any gigs in Germany next time? Wish you a creative future and greetings to all Satch Fans out there!!! (hey Joe, I hope it's really you who claims to read this and not a underpaid Joe Letterman writing double...sorry, that was hard, seems I'm a little bit paranoid, too much Pink Floyd in one's past is just not good for you) P.S. If Mr. Steve Hacket should ever read this: I like your recent album, but not the TechnoBreakbeatwhateverUcallit parts - nevermind.

GUTTERbOY:
Let's all remember... once Joe (or anyone else for that matter) starts basing the music he makes on market shares or public prefernces rather that what HE likes and feels in his heart, he is moving down the road to sell-out city. If you wanna think moving down a techno route was a sell-out move, go right ahead- Joe said a while back that EOC was "straight from my heart," and I believe him. It's not about my preferences or anyone else's except for Joe's. And after all, if we all agreed on everything and everyone had the same opinions, wouldn't the world be boring as hell? If you don't like EOC, don't listen to it. Go right ahead and throw it out the car window, burn it as a sacrifice to the gods of tapping, play Frisbee golf with it... constructive criticism is good, but "this sucks" is going too far.

My doctor said that even though there is a VERY small chance they could get better that i would still be in a lot of pain, this comming from a stanford doctor so i bevieve what he says. Well to get on a brighter side i got a js100 last year for my birthday, the best gift ever, ive been playing a strat i got for my 11 birthday before then. Im getting really good, im learning all the modes now. Im also saving my money to buy the Fred and PAF Pro pickups they have great sound and tonei might save for that single coil tapping switch. My parents are also big fans, its one of thoes rare cases when the parents like the same music as there kids......wierd. Well i hope you have a great time touring, and i hope to see you at the warfield......My mom wants to say were in the far left of the upper balcony first row. Later Joe.

YAYO: when you say that EVERYONE is putting out techno albums these days, who exactly are you talking about??? you said the exception was Vai and a few others...but it seems to me there are only a handfull of instrumental guitarists in existence of the calibre of Joe and Steve...atleast in popularity and influence. Besides the obvious Jeff Beck, who else are you talking about??? Oh, and when you say that EoC is unoriginal on the basis that "everybody else is doin it", you forget that when the Extremist was released, back in '92, EVERYBODY else was putting out rock, hard rock, and metal albums. What makes The Extremist unique, as well as EVERY other album of Joe's, is his guitar playing...his feeling. You can't tell me the sounds of Summer Song, War, Friends, Why, Motorcycle Driver, or even Cryin' are that "unique", it's the emotion, and the arrangements that make them that way. I think that's the way people should be looking at this new stuff. Behind the beat (which I think is very cool) lies some of Joe's best playing....get over the past, and move on! oh, and ONE more thing.....you rule Joe!!!

This album really does grow on you. I really like 'Clouds races across the sky', 'Champagne' (love those keyboard effects in the beginning)... 'Power Cosmic 2000' could be a powerful show opener, 'Eoc' and 'Slow and Easy' are just neat songs... I generally love all the songs that don't have the fast tempo techno beats. 'Devil's Slide' and 'Flavor Crystal 7' definitely sound like themes from a video game, but the overall album is just very atmospheric and imaginative.. I wonder how much of the album is really "Joe" as opposed to Eric Caudieux's keyboard work.. However, good job and I'm enjoying the music.

Hey I've seen a lot of people arguing about Joe's new album. It doesn't suck like some day, but it's not the best. I don't own all albums, I have Surfing with the alien, Crystal Planet, Not from this earth, & Engines of creation. Out of all those albums, to me the best are the first two that I mentioned. The last one is like some people said -- it has like too many FX or he uses a lot of electronic music. I like the guitar, just plain guitar, with a wah here and there...but not this new style. I'm still a fan, but...Joe please go back to your old style like on CP or Surfing with the alien.

Joe, I have been turning people on to your new album (EOC), people who have never listened to you before. So far, so good! It's fun to promote it among my friends. I also plan to donate a copy to the local, independent, alternative radio station in town. I'm gonna get you on the air in this town-- no one here plays you! (I'm in the middle of a SouthWestern desert.) Vaya con Dios!

ABDALLAH: yes guns for all, doesnt mean go out and shoot everyone! what are you going to do if and when someone breaks into your house and they have a gun? you gonna hide user your bed and hope they dont shoot you because YOU are defensless? owning a firearm takes responsibility and everyone who owns one should be properly trained in how to use it

Date: Fri Mar 31 12:06
JB (Jason Banks) <jasonbanks@att.com>:
Guns eh? Hey Joe, where YOU going? Hm! Guns are not the problem. People who misuse them are. I do not believe in manditory "locking". I do believe that if you cannot operate one safely, you should NOT have one. If you misuse one, punishment should be delt appropriatly. I enjoy guns for sport. But, in America, someone breaks into your house, you have NO idea if/how well armed they are. Kids have guns.. I believe registration is NOT a problem (you have nothing to hide do you?). I believe anyone who "lets" a gun fall into the wrong hands needs to be delt with harshly (and if you knowingly give a gun to a kid, bye bye). I do NOT believe that a parent, that locks up their pistol and their son literaly breaks into the cabinet, is responsible. As for the guy who's gun went off in his waist band, he obviously did NOT know how to safely operate/carry a pistol. If you carry one in the chamber, you better have the safty on. On a different note, there a hell of alot dangerous drivers out there. People die in multiples every day in accidents caused by people who *can not drive*. Yet, we allow people to buy trucks like the Excursion without being tested to see whether they can handle the thing. There are problems with everything (except Jello). Guns are a problem, but the problem is not the guns.

Scal - I think that Joe has about as much artistic freedom as anybody out there, as far as his relationship with the suits goes. I don't think that EoC's electronica aspects were the result of record company pressure. They know that Joe's fans would buy his albums if they featured him playing the tuba. As far as Joe going commercial, once again, the suits are smart enough to know that the "guitar-hero" genre's commercial viability has greatly diminished in the past decade. I don't think they expect Joe to sell millions upon millions of CD's.

Hey does any one Know if Joe's going to do a Eurpean tour. Preferably Scotland.I saw him in Glasgow with G3 and he was awesome, didn't think much of Michael Schenker or Uli Jon Roth though. Yayo, we're both entitled to an opinion on guns. Your pathetic drivel about the rights of Americans to own guns sounds like it came right out of the toilet. And as for the guy who slashed my tires, his life has been a miserable one. This is where your ignorance about karma comes in (which is why you should go to Sears and watch the d@mn t.v. there). Karma doesn't work overnight. Life is what you make it. If you choose not to believe, that's your buisness, but maybe someday you'll open your eyes. I don't know if anything happened to him, I don't live in his house, but in time, he'll pay for it. I truely believe that. I don't have to go outside and have a freak attack and bust up his truck and retaliate. That only brings me down to his pathetic level. Instead, when I look at him, I know he is mentally unstable and doesn't know any better, just like a little kid. I feel pity for him that he chooses to block out all the lessons that are being set before him. Instead of learning anything, he's still like a little kid. He probably has a 7 yr. old mentality on how to deal with people. Hopefully, you'll catch on to the karma thing someday. I'd hate to see you acting like this guy when your in your 50's. peace**

abdallah (abdallah ouldzein) <ouldzein@hotmail.com>:
hi all, saw this somewhere:" Offering a change of pace after 1998’s imposing Crystal Planet, King Shred Joe Satriani delves into the electronica realm on Engines of Creation. The guitarist teamed with producer Eric Caudieux , who fills the album with rumbling machine-driven drum-and-bass rhythms. The result is rugged soundscapes rich with guitar textures and Satriani’s trademark soaring melodies. Tracks like the opening “Devil’s Slide,” the oddly metered “Flavor Crystal 7” and “The Power Cosmic 2000-Part II” feature the kind of fast-paced grooving and rock-oriented soloing the guitarist is renowned for. And what Satch album would be complete without the sprinking of beautiful ballads, including the single “Until We Say Goodbye”? But things get most interesting when Satriani pushes the envelope – literally -- on the surging ying-and-yang rawk of “Borg Sex,” the bluesy slide guitar track “Champagne?,” the slinky, distinctive “Slow and Easy,” and the gorgeous title cut with its multiple layers of lyrical guitar. The preponderance of mechanical dance beats may disappoint some in Satriani’s loyal legions, but the fact that he doesn’t on Engines sing may offer salve for the wound."

The Right of Americans to own guns is supported by the 2nd Ammendment, under the condition that we need them to form a militia to protect our sovereignty.....unless you feel like learning to speak chinese then i suggest all americans own a gun. as for watching oprah, well unless it comes on CNN or MSNBC i dont see it, and Karma is all in your head! its your concious (sp?) saying "look what you did, now you're fuc*ed" and you keep this negative energy in your subconcious and then boom something happens....just keep positive thoughts and nothing happens! works for me..... what ever happened to your neighbor who slashed your tires? im willing to bet nothing happened to him....

SCOOT- What i found that works in that kind of a situation is using heavier strings. I currently string my Ibanez RG with Ernie Ball 10-52's, and have it set with action just high enough so i can bend cleanly without fretbuzz on the lower strings (on that neck, that's LOW). The combination of the heavier strings and more springs (i also use 4) makes the trem stiffer than it would be with light strings and light spring tension. Yeah, it's a bit tough to get used to the heavier strings, but if vaughan can play 12's, then i think us mortals can deal with 10. :o) There's a few added benifits, too- i got a noticible increse in sustain when i switch ed up from .09-42 to these, they have a fuller tone, and anyone who picks up your guitar and starts bending strings will think you're a total badass. :o) CYBERALIEN- Good point, but why stop there? I know i personally wouldn't feel safe if our givernment has nuclear warheads and i didn't. :o) Keep it real, everyone.

Hullo Joe I have been listening to "Engines of Creation" some more, & the more I listen to it the more amazed I am. I think its just such wonderful music. When I first downloaded "Borg Sex" (here we go again!) I thought it was a terrible noise, and I said so here(apologies!), but when I heard it in context on the CD it started to make sense, and now I just think its just a work of genious! Its like nothing Ive ever heard before, and I think it takes the brain a time to adapt to completely new sounds, and make sense of them, which is why every generation hates the music that comes after, to start with.... Also, although "Borg Sex" stands alone, it also makes the more "conventional", if I can use that word for your music, Satriani sound ,like "clouds.."and "Until.."sound even more lovely. One question Joe....what came first, the title"Borg Sex", or did the sounds give you the idea for the name? Lots of love & appreciation Michele

Hi Joe, what's your Take on Randy Rhoads? He was sure insirational to me- in fact the reason why I picked up the guitar (that was also before I got into much other guitar music), but he seems to be very much underestimated I reckon. As far as I'm concerned he was the first neo-classical guitarist, not Yngwie.

Hello Joe. This my first time writing and I wanted to say I think you are an innovative, creative and all around bad muther on the guitar but more importantly to me you are a fine songwriter. I've seen amazing guitar playing and own countless CDs of impressive fret work but your melodies and songs are the reason I never hesitate to purchase anything with your name attached. I enjoyed the behind the scenes look on your video of there recording for the JOE SATRIANI album and i was wondering if any similaer videos were made for CRYSTAL PLANET. That album confirmed how much of an artist and risk taker you are. That was a smart record. I just wish I could see up close and personal how you played some of that stuff. Also have you ever thought about, and I hate to say it,a "LICKS" type video ? Where i could see and expand my playing how you pull off some of the impress guitar work. Altough I play nothing like you, you do inspire. My goal is to be known as a great songwriter who plays guitar and all I can say is you have acheived that. I did not know what to think of you in the early 80's but you sir have proven to be as creative and a true artist like my hero JIMI HENDRIX. Keep it up and keep taking risks. Your new one is growing on me it's like satch meets the chemical brothers. PS after I get my record deal I'm buggin' you for a couple of private lessons. TONY

I'm a longtime fan, from the daze of small Long Island bars in front of the rabid locals. I own both the original vinyl album releases, most everything on CD to 'supplement' the vinyl (which I keep), as well as being a guitar virtuoso junkie - Gary Hoey, Vinnie Moore, Steve Morse, etc., et al., all in my collection. All of which is to indicate a lack of musical bias when I make the following gripe about this website - the annoying bias displayed by the commentary about 'techno dreck'. I've been heavily involved in the 'techno' scene for just over 6 years, and while there may be hordes of utterly untalented software dabblers turning out dreck, there are already a good number of amazingly talented musicians turning out phenomenally good music. 'True music fans' should know that it's already available, requiring only a reasonable investment of time (as I spent) to find folks knowledgeable in the genre (as I have) to help explore its many facets. Many of my friends, who've grown up on 'rock', have thoroughly! enjoyed the samplings of 'techno' I've given them. Please, Joe (or whoever wrote the text), I have too much respect for talent, yours or anyone else's, regardless of music style, to accept the inference that before 'Engines of Creation', there were no worthwhile productions or 'real musicians' using 'highfalutin' gear'.

Hey Joe I'm a crazy fan of you, and I bought your new album about 4 days later when it was released. It it's good, but not the best you've done. The only thing that I don't like is that you used too many effects, and you did not play real guitar, like on Surfing with the Alien, or Crystal Planet. On your last album I saw more of a "ravish" kind of play, than rock. Still good, but not the best. Favorite song from that album is "Champagne?" I have to start this by saying sorry if its sounds like a desrespect note. Please don't misunderstand me, ok?. I am a drummer living now in Brazil, 27 years old, born in Argentina, and an inner-soul-rock player. As everybody else I have my dreams and my goals. I've achieved one of my goals - finding my "Basic Rhythm" (its a project to teach poor kids how to find their way through life with drumming, without drugs etc.). Now, about a dream, as a drummer and human, I have one to achieve. Playing drums with Joe Satriani. I could write down so many reasons, but: first: I respect the drummer (he is so good) that is playing with you right now. second: I respect your reasons for selecting your studio/stage musicians. So, if one day you need a drummer, to play beautiful and simple rock stuff, I will be ready for it. I am already ready for it. Right now, I won't waste your time with curriculum and recommendations stuff. Maybe, if you come to Brazil, we can talk about it and even jam a little bit. Well, if interests you in any way (I could work in studios, as a drum tech, anything to spend some time of my life in this world, by your side, to learn more about the truth feel of playing rock music), I am ready to relocate to U.S., to make a living as a drummer, as I've been doing for several years (I cannot forget my mom and dad's support) in South America. I hope that you recieve this message as a positive atittude. Good luck in your up-coming tour (to your musicians too). Keep rocking from your soul, thank you for your time, take care, sincerelly, Diego Salcedo. You may answer to diegodrums@yahoo.com

Dear Joe... I own all your records and I believe IÄm very familiar with your records within the last 14 years. Well, Engines of Creation is not my favorite record, but I admire your courage to do this record. I'm sure, it's a new experience for yourself to create a fresher sound. I also know, it's impossible to write new riffs, solos again and again... So I can't understand the hard critics on your webboard. Anyway my favorite records are "Surfing With The Alien", "Flying In A Blue Dream" and "The Extremist". Particulary I do like "The Extremist"... it's very powerful and probably your best songwritin'. Anyway you're still my favorite guitarist... nobody plays better!!! Can you tell me, when you will tour in Germany???

Joe...LawStud made a grand suggestion on Tuesday..why not make the bonus CD available at your concerts for a tad over the cost price? So many of us can't get it and I hate the idea of a gap in my collection..I've even got the Alice Cooper and Greg Kihn platters on which you play. Can you have a word with your distribution people, please? TECHIE QUESTIONS :(1) I've had some trouble with the trem unit on my Ib..it's so sensitive that any pressure on the block sends the guitar out of tune. I've added a fourth spring and raised the action, but I'm wondering if this is a smack-botty no-no, or should I revert to the factory setting with 3 springs and learn not to rest my hand on the trem block? (2) Do you have any finger-prints on your left hand, or are the tips pure callus? Given all the recent talk about guns, if you ever decide to shoot the piano player, make sure you do it left-handed! See you in the UK.

Hey RedRabit, you may want to come down to El Paso and pay $50 for front row seats (I'm not kidding). But it's probably not the artist's fault; most concerts are over $30 here, while in other cities (with bigger venues and/or more population) ticket prices are much cheaper. What can we do? Anyway, I'm still voting for "Crystal Planet" as the leadoff song. Any comments?

Just hanging around and reading other peoples questions, looking for the last response, or news update. I try to keep ontop of this stuff. Especially htose meet and greet offers I heard about on FAQ. Would nearly kill me to shake that hand, not that I would for fear of damaging it. EoC is rockin', I also have doon the sleepin' with it playing in my ears. Odd dreams may come your way, so go for it. How come you are re-releasing the old albums, I think thay all sound great, albiet it would be sweet to crank them up a little higher, but are there any planned bonus tracks or what not? Are you going to release a DVD with tour stuff and studio footage, and a long assed interview, like the great Satch Tapes? I'd buy it up in a second. I am always on the look out for more musical knowledge. 1 question, do you look over the transcriptions people make of your songs in the books that come out before they are published, because I have seen you play the summer song live ( on G3 tapes only) and it is way different than it is tabbed in the book for the G3 tour? Is that just a normal studio/live playing quirk? Or are they not up too the job? Must be tough enough as it is, but we all catch these things. No need to be too picky htough I guess. Just quality control. later mandinga Markus :o)

Joe, I must say I'm really disappointed with the new album. I found that there was a complete lack of melody in just about every song. What happened? I don't really dislike the techno/electronic sound to the music, but I think the songs need more than just some weird sounding effects and some fast licks. I'm not afraid to tell you the truth, because my opinion should have no effect on your future music. This album's going right back to the music store...

Joe, well man ! I don´t know how to describe your new cd, it´s completely diferent and also very strange, I mean, you used to play a lot your guitar, you know, the classic guitar sound, always a lead guitar with a rythim guitar and all that stuff, but this one is more like a self test, like that you want to know how good you are making music, all kind of music, that´s ok. I´m just hoping for you no to be like metallica, because they suck !! I was a metallica fan until that waste of 4 years named "Load" and then "re-load" and then all that bad cd´s. Do a make my self clear? I´m not saying that your new cd is bad, no ! it´s just seems that the 90´s influenced you. About the gun control thing....I think it's plain to see, just by looking at countries such as Canada (where I live), and Australia, that gun control does not work. If you were to look at statistics on crimes in each of those countries, you would notice that instances of violent crime have risen dramatically since the gun legislations have been put into place. It's simple, gun control takes weapons out of the hands of responsible gun owners, gives police and other government officials unnecessary power, and gives violent criminals a free-for-all when it comes to armed robberies and home invasions. Maybe weapons should be a little harder to get, but they SHOULD NOT be banned in any way. Criminals certainly will never have a problem getting guns, why should the responsible portion of the public not be able to protect themselves??? that's just my opinion. Later.

Yayo, maybe you should lay OFF the coffee. Bottom line is guns suck. Yesterday in my newspaper, a local guy was at the grocery store with his girlfriend and 17 month old son. The guy reached out for the baby who started to run and the gun in the holster tucked in the waistband of his pants went off. The bullet hit him in the artery in his leg, and he died in the car as his girlfriend frantically drove him to the hospital. He was 30. Yeah, isn't owning a gun cool?

Whatever it's got to do with anything, but there's no need to own a gun in the UK (except for in controlled clubs). Criminals are VERY rarely armed themselves, and unlike what it seems to be in the US, it isn't considered reasonable to kill someone just because they have broken into your house. We've got by without blowing eachothers brains out for long enough, but maybe we're just wierd. Don't judge the rest of the world by your own narrow standards!

Living in England as i do , i find the idea of anyone being able to own a gun shocking . At the end of the day weopons only cause destruction and living in a gun free society is way preferable than living in a gun wielding society . The idea that you need a gun to defend your property is lame - without a gun in our houses thieves don't run loose over here - we have a strict punishment system . Anyway , i'd prefer my house to be burgled than to shoot and possibly kill someone - it's only possessions over a life after all - even if it is a scumbag burglar. Violence is on the increase in England , but it isn't at the same level as in other parts of the world , and GUNS would Increase the problem - not solve it. Just thinking out loud anyway . Adam - tell Marta thanks for last night . All the best . John

Hey yayo, Those thoughts i offered before were not completely my own! My point, which was obviously overlooked by some, was that in a Utopian society, guns would be arbitrary. We obviously do not live in, or could even fathom living in a Utopian society, so there is really no happy medium for the gun control dispute. People want to abolish guns, and people want to marry them, there really is no ground for dispute in between. And if there is, it is unarguable because people then want to retreat as far to the extremes as possible, which would in turn bring us back to the original question; how do we live peacefully and comfortably??? just some food for thought!...later...adam

ACP4EVA: i take it you don't live in the mighty might U.S.A...... if there was strict gun control such as slick willy proposes, photo id's, 3 day background checks at gun shows, smart gun technology and god knows what else then we would have the government saying "no no cant shoot your gun yet" "only on tuesdays and fridays you can shoot your gun" its bogus, i hear in the UK you cant even own a gun! what up with that? what do you do when someone breaks into your house when you are sleeping? call the police? hahaahaa..... oh yeah and if there were strict gun control then that would mean less killing which would equate to a large population.....what are we gonna do if we cure all diseases and have strict gun control? we will have billions more people than before and no food, water which equates to famine and cannabialism.....oh yeah and this is all before my first cup of coffee.

Hell there JOE, 'Engines of Creation' is definetly a brave departure for you. As most musicians are aware trying to fuse the new electronic sounds that are being explored in house/garage/two-step/transient/etc. with the sound of the electric guitar and craeting an original and balanced sound has had most of us pulling our hair out!!. Having listened to your new album, I think that you have managed to do just that. I know that this was experimental stuff for you and so some of it like 'borg sex' maybe a little weak on the ground (although not technically, obviously!!). You definetly hit the write formula (for me at least) with Devil's slide, Flavor crystal 7, The power cosmic 2000-part 1, Engines of creation and my personal favourite at the moment 'Clouds race across the sky'. The new set-list preference is a good idea, and once again reminded me of the ever growing amount of music that you are catalouging(sp!?). I tried to create a list that shifted moods, opening with my favourite piece, 'Flying in a blue dream'. I have always loved the way you used the feedback at the beginning of the piece. Brilliant. Anyway, as ever Joe you are proving to us all just how far behind we all are!! I hope you tour the U.K at some point this summer, as I will come and see you again. It would be a hatrick (third time). So ciao for now. Yours faithfully, Latinboy.

If there are any questions as to why Yngwie isn't on the G3 tour, it may be helpful for some to look up EGO in the dictionary. It's about the same size as his native Sweden. He's a fantastically talented bloke alright and although I love neoclassical, it has become a bit passe for the tastes of the masses. The Japanese seem to love him though. Yngwie, the concert suite was a nice idea, but you've gotta move on mate. Why do people want to built conservatories all over the place? What's that got to do with Joe anyway, or is it a sideline like Vai keeps bees?

Two questions: Will you have an opening band? and Will there be any webcasts like last tour? Hey everyone...Ken Campbell...if you think about it, to be governed IS to be ruled. We have been ruled by society's womb since birth- it's kinda like a way in which we keep each other in check, which refers back to that whole "checks and balances" thing. Gun control in America is much long over-due and needed in the states! Youth violence, adult rage, child deaths, are all( in some/most cases) repercusions of the current gun laws. If we look back through recent and "ancient" American history, we'll find many ways in which our capitalistc, and "democratic" government regulates our ever step through life. This is how we as a people create an ordered society, as opposed to an order-less one, in which dis-order and havoc run rampant through life- thus, the description of nature... we naturally come out of nature to find authority, and laws, and all that good stuff which enables us, and our children, to live reasonably peaceful lives! WOW...I think I'm way too tired...It's about 2:15am EST, and I'm sitting in a pot-filled dorm room, listening to Jimi Hendrix- it don't get much better than this!!! Joe- you rule, and everyone here loves you(they told me to write that)! We'll all see you in Boston bro- keep up the good work, and jam on...! p.s.- sorry if i was babbling before- i'm seeing about 20 screens right now!...laters...adam

Joe!! I have to admidt that I'm a new listener and only wish I could call myself a "hardcore fan," but I'll get there some day. I just wanted to say that I really respect the fact that you treat your fans so good. You make such a great role model for aspiring young guitarists such as myself. I'm getting my hands on anything I can that you've released, and just wanted to say "thank you" and good luck. Your work as a musician and as a person are much appreciated, Take care, Dan Rice

Hi Joe! Love the new album. I've sorta gotten into the whole electronic thing the last few years and I think mixin' it with guitar is totally cool. There's still nothin' like good ole straight forward rockin' on the guitar but I think it's cool you're experimenting. Hopefully I can get out of MS and come to one of your shows. I've never gotten the chance. I don't see anything real close by on the tour dates, may have to plan a road trip. I think it will be interesting to see how some of the new stuff sounds live. Take it easy Joe, though it may be hard since your about to tour, and keep up the great work!!

OK, let's settle this for one and for all... There is NOT, I repeat, NOT, a G3 planned with Malmsteen. If you read the Satch interview in GuitarOne (March), you will learn that that was only in the planning stage and didn't get any farther than that. PLEASE read this before posting, "I heard there was gonna be a G3 with Yngwie. That would rock/suck/blow/kick butt/be OK." Thank you for your cooperation. Oh yeah, I was watching my G3 video... I STILL nearly piss my pants every time Joe does the one-handed part in Cool #9. That just frickin' drives me wild!!

Hello again, Mr. Satriani. This is just a comment to make fellow fans aware that--per the email from Epic records--the "EOC" bonus CD is only available when you purchase "EOC" at a couple certain record store chains. I believe the only ones doing the promo where any stores affiliated with Wherehouse, or those affiliated with a certain chain of indie stores. You have to follow the links on the email. I did, and much to my chagrin I learned that absolutely none of these stores exist in Ohio. My shortest trip would be three hours north in Michigan, which is unconscionable to me. Joe and Epic should at least work out an arrangement to make this bonus CD available to ALL FANS who attend his shows. I've got to hear what this "Turkey Man" thing is all about.

Thanks Joe. Alex

After listening to countless hours of Satch music, and attempting to learn some of it (with some help from Morkie's Guitar Schtuff), I found that it seemed easier to play some of Joe's fast licks than playing the slower stuff. I tried learning Thinking of You, and it hit me! I was playing the same notes, but danm!!! It sounded awful! I've almost got Ceremony down packed, but the slow stuff, like in Always With Me..., is way to difficult for me to play. I congratulate you Joe, for some fine work and playing with such spirit!

Hi Joe & All, It turns out that Joe (you probably already knew this) is not appearing in Santa Cruz this Thursday. The sign is really referring to an internet chat sponsored by The Wherehouse. Never thought I would get this point as to ask the key to such an @ss of being without just my other side to fullfil my desires (it's about being smart, I mean). Hey Joe, glad to see you have selected the Moore Theater in Seattle as the venue site. I believe this is the best place in town to hear and see shows. Last time you came through, you played the Paramount and the sound for those in the balcony was awful. The subwoofers don't reach the balcony at the Paramount and subsequently two-thirds of the sound was missing. I mentioned the Moore to the fellow at the soundboard. Although its capacity is smaller it is a whole lot more intimate and the sound can't be beat. Do you know when tix will be on-sale for your Portland & Seattle dates? Looking forward to your arrival!

Hi Joe, Nice new album. I was surprised with the techno/futuristic (for lack of a better word) :) sound in this album. It definitely does not sound like any of your other albums but the trademark leads and sound are still present, though not as pervasive. It is amazing to listen to the music you compose and I am totally in awe. I do have a complaint though. You came to Columbus, Ohio the last time around (Crystal Planet) and you are not coming here this time. I noticed there are no tour dates in Ohio. Is there any possibility of playing in Cleveland or Cincinnati ? I wouldnt mind driving to either of those places to see you play again and I am sure your fans in Ohio feel the same. Hi, Joe, I'm back again. The other day, I saw a whole gaggle of people wearing satriani t-shirts in Bristol, UK, which to be honest, OK, isn't THAT common because lots of people over here have no taste. Nevertheless there are definitely easily enough people in this part of the world to justify a gig in Bristol, or preferably Cardiff international arena because it's so much nicer there (no offence any Bristolians out there). I mean, at least LOADS of people know you by reputation over here even if they're not into your stuff, same for steve V. but tragically not for eric Johnson which I think is a pity because he's pretty cool too. Anyway, that's enough from me.

Thank you very much for answering me, and see you later.

I told you another time . I have been my own teacher all my life, because no one would help me . I like teaching myself but i know i need some help from somebody like you . I don't think you know how it is to live a poor life. my folks toegheter earn 150$/month because there are very hard living conditions in Romania. So 4 people live from 150$/month. How could i pay for a conservatory in the States? i can't. That's why i thought that maybe you could help me on a mental level. i hope that you won't consider this a joke.

RATTLESNAKE:
Hello Joe!! EOC is another fine musicial statement.I'm really diggin all the tracks.Clouds race across the sky is moving me the most, very soulfull!!A'm very fortuate to catch the first two shows of the tour, sac town on 12th,reno on 13th ,and im not rubbing it in everybody,he's just starting very close to were i'm living. I've been a loyal fan from flying on and have seen every tour, but the Crystal Planet tour totally blew my mind! There was only one thing that bummed me at that show here in sac town .The second to the last song of the set was rasberry delta v .On the intro of the tune your guitar effect cut out and your tech ran out from the back to try and resolve the problem. In his effort he couln't solve the problem,at that point you said "Well we might as well do the last song" which was Surfin with the alien. So when you make your set list for this tour could you please include Rasberry jam delta v!! I'd really love to hear it live !!! KEEP ROCKIN AND WE LOVE YOU !! RATTLESNAKE,PEACE!!!

Secondly, Joe on 'Mystical potatoe head groove thing', how to you tap out that fiddly bit? I know you cross over your hands but i cant do it for the life of me.....wondering if im missing some other technique? Im assuming that you roll your first, third and pinky over the notes but i cant get it fast enough that way. Matt

Hey Joe, I just got your new cd and I must say it's great! It sounds like you were tapped into your ALLAN HOLDSWORTH influence on this record even though the musical environments are somewhat electronica based. You seem to use a lot of modal interchange, and play over changes more than just one tonal center. Very Cool stuff! Good luck with the tour, I'll be seeing ya in BOSTON. Also thanks to you and your fans for their support of my music on my site,I enjoy their comments! Keep ripping!! JOSEPH http://www.mp3.com/JOEFELONI

** Hello Joe, your pal Tommy here from So-Cal... I bought the new album and I just wanted to say that it's really inspirational to hear you using the new technology to create music. It's something I've been doing myself also, more recently... My favorite song has to be "Clouds race across the sky"... I love the key changes, that song is just moving. I really think you should open the show with Power Cosmic Part I, that song rocks also... Anyway, I'm really satisfied with the fact that you did something different, regardless of the fact that some people can't accept change... You might want to check out a program called "fruity loops", my friend and I have found it very useful with making loops and samples on the computer.. See ya in May...

LawStud (Pete Roche) <peter.roche@law.csuohio.edu>:
Hello there, Mr. Satriani. "Engines of Creation" is pretty darn brilliant. "Until We Say Goodbye" is an instant classic Satch ballad, in the grand tradition of "Always With Me...," "Home," and "You're My World." Great stuff. However, it's "Borg Sex" and "Attack" that make me want to either 1) go jogging or 2) start working out. I suppose either would be a good thing. My point is that those two electro-tech tunes affect my medula oblongata in a most profound and positive way--the synapses really blow my neurons out, if you get my meaning. I also dig "Devil's Slide," especially the solo section, wherein you have different guitars contributing a measure alternately on the left and right sides of the stereo field. Cool, cool, cool indeed. But lookie here now, Mr. Satriani. I see Cleveland is not yet included on your tour itinerary. You can't NOT come to Cleveland. I've seen you here in town every time you've stopped by, ever since Peabody's DownUnder in '88. I notice that you're booked through April pretty much, but please do try and loop back around to our neck of the woods. As usual, your Cleveland constituents shall reward you with an extremely enthralled (and merchandise hungry)capacity audience. May St. Joe accompany you and yours on the road and good health and fortunes abound, and thanks again for adding another favorite disc to my collection.

Joe - Bonus CD finally arrived via UPS today. I like it, and this isn't a knock at all, but to those of you who couldn't get it, you really aren't missing THAT much. Only one song on it is not on EoC, and it was not written by Joe anyway. The best thing on it is the remix of Flavor Crystal 7. The acoustic drums really kick. If it weren't for the fact that commercial radio is run by empty suits, it could get heavy play.

Joe how is rehearsal going? I was wondering if you plan on playing "Flavor crystal 7" live and if so will it be arranged differently because of the funky 7/4 timing. Hi Joe, just stopping in to give you a cyber hug** Time is ticking, baby! That tour will be starting up in no time. What's been the most bizzare thing any fan has ever asked you to autograph? I bet we can get pretty wierd, huh? lol! When I sit at my p.c. I look up on my wall where your self-titled cassette insert hangs with 2 ticket stubbs behind plexi-glass. It says (in the best bad-@ss squiggle) Joe Satriani, Mike Keneally 1997, Stu Hamm, and Jeff Campitelli. Man, I hope and pray we can do that again. It was one of the best moments in my life. Hi Joe, I just bought a new JS1000. It is being shipped from Seattle as we speak, they are hard to find in stock! I could only find two black ones in the Bay Area, but one was a '98 and both had lots of dings in them. Anyway, I bought it with the hopes that you could sign it for me at your appearance this Thursday in Santa Cruz. If you can, what would be the best pen to use? I see lots of guitar images on the internet signed with a silver paint pen. I intend to play the heck out of this guitar, but I would like to preserve the signature. Have you heard of overcoating signatures with clear gloss? Or a clear plastic sticker of some sort? Thanks, Erik PS - Devil's Slide is great!

Wow, Joe, you're playing guitar on the tour too? Hehehe just kidding. Can Stu do another bass solo? His solo on the CP tour was CRAZY. That gig at the Tower Theater in Philly was rockin'... At the time the only CD of yours I owned was Crystal Planet (the first one I ever heard, I bought it based on the first song of yours I ever heard, A Train of Angels, in a listening post) and after the concert I rushed to get all your CD's at once. It changed my life. I've never been the same since, especially with my playing. And you've helped me with my decision to major in music and follow my dreams. I can't wait for the 29th... I'm so psyched. Definately do an album with a full strings section, or at least a couple songs, that would rule. Or do like an all jazz CD, that would be awesome too. If there's one thing I've learned from listening to your music it's that you are capable of anything. Rock on.

Hey Joe! Just got the new CD two days ago. I can't quit playing "Borg Sex". An awesone song! I have two little girls and they just keep dancing around the house when I put it on. I also really like "Until We Say Goodbye". Please add a Louisville or Cincinnati date to your tour. Congrats on the new CD!

Hey Joe, that's a great new CD you put out. Fun part is reading everyone's reactions to your incorporation of techno. Must admit that it certainly was a shift, and quite an intriguing one at that.

Hi Joe. I just had a brother who passed away on 3-17-00. He was a big fan of yours. In his memory we played your song "HOME" at his funeral. It was very emotional. I was just wondering if HOME is on the set list for the tour. I would love to here it for my brother Steve James Laughton. Thanks for your time. See ya at the Wiltern Theatre on April 15. Peace

Hey Joe! YOu know what? I was at my school and they were going to hold a talent show. Exelent I thought. So I praticed and practices. Then on the night i told them I was going to play crsytal planet. IT was very cool every one was impressed even my band teacher. And I got asked into two bands for lead guitarist. YESS!! Just thought Id tell you. Furthermore, i was near the end and man was I ever nervouse for the first hour. Right before I when on stage, my heart was beating a mile a minute. But after my performance every one congratualte me. And after my performance, my ego has shot through the roof. Just thought I like telling people about my acomplishements. Anyway crystal planet has made me a twice as good a guitar player than I once was. So Now I'm learning Pagnini's 5th caprise and I probably couldn't play it if it wasn't for crystal planet.

...hi all..it's monday, time for a fresh page, aaahhh...somebody asked about the beginning of " memories"?, tha's a rockman! one of the old hand held units. john cuniberti begged me not to use it for that part, but thought it sounded so un-metal that it was cool , in a quirky sort of way...the tour's set list is comin' along nicely thanks to all of your contributions...the set will eventually feature music from every cd, and the band will feature: jeff campitelli on drums, stuart hamm on bass and eric caudieux on rhythm guitar and keyboards...and me too, on guitar!...i'm reading all your comments, thanks for visiting the site...later, joe.
