Joe and the boys rocked the house. We got to hear the sound check from outside and then see the show. Almost like two concerts in one night. The sound was perfect and I had a great time.

Amazing show. The best I've ever seen the band and just about the closest too. Being able to hear "Surfing" live was a dream come true for me. When Satch and crew were on the original tour, my folks said I was too young to go =) It doesn't seem like its been 20 years coming!!!! So, back to the show. It started a bit late, but after waiting this long what's a couple minutes? The sound through the PA was good. The sound coming directly from the bamd was life altering. Being that close, hearing un-amp'ed live drums and music straight out of the cabinets on the stage made for a much better sound - and FREAKIN HUGE TONE!!!!!!!! From everybody's rigs. Well done boys! THe highlights for me were Always with me, Always with you and Circles. Two of my all time favorites that Joe and crew spiced up with some tasty interplay. I wish I had a recording of that show. JOE! You reading? PLease release some live audio from these 4 shows - its too good not to. So anyhoo, Always morphed into A little help from my friends and it made quite a few folks in the audience tear up. Humbling, uplifting, and rockin out bigtime! Joe worked The Enigmatic into Circles and it worked so well I laughed myself sore. Thank you Joe!!!!!!!!!!

This was a once in a lifetime show...the energy was intense as I was right in front of Joe. A cool place to watch him perform. Even though I have seen him perform most of these tunes B4 , Joe and the boys delivered a legendary performance again. Its kinda funny that is what I expect to see because that is what I have seen the other 10 shows I have seen. Thanks Joe , Jeff , Galen and Dave for a show I will never forget......

It was May 15, 1988 when I first saw Joe Satriani at the Paradise in Boston on Commonwealth Ave. Earlier that day I had attended a meet and greet at Strawberries Records in Kenmore to have my Rubina EP signed by Joe, say hello and chit chat about music and influential guitarists. I had just about worn out my original CD of Surfing by that time (sic) and could absolutely not wait to see Joe live. The album was incredible then as it is now. It definitely has stood the test of time as one of the greatest instrumental guitar records of all time. Then came this announcement a few weeks ago that Joe would be celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Surfing with the Alien with a small intimate tour of only 4 cities playing select venues. There was no doubt that being there was important. Having been there from the beginning it wasn't that I felt that I might have been part of history and maybe I was but that wasn't the reason. Having witness the genesis of a career and seeing the evolution of said career is nothing short of unique and a privilege. On to the show. A superb Friday night on the Sunset Strip. The lights, the clubs, the bimbos and everything that makes the Strip the Strip was in full force including a great rock show at the Roxy. There was actually only one thing that I, my cousin Claire, my friends Andy and AJ were pretty sure of and that was Joe was there with the rest of us to celebrate 20 years of a great record and to have a damn good time with some awesome music. We were not disappointed. Driving through each song on Surfing very much like he did 20 years with a few added touches of evolution. Giving a little history for each song gave them character and fullness they deserved. As these songs have become infamous for Joe as where it all started to get big for him. As usual the Roxy sound was superb. There were no missed notes or anything that took away from a great night of guitar virtuoso. Seeing Joe on this night was like seeing an old friend you've come to know and trust that when you see him he will always put on the best show possible. The added bonus was that we ran into a kind fellow before the show who kindly gave us some wristbands to hang out after the show and say hello to Joe and chat for a moment, which was as always very cool but too short. Also got to meet Dave LaRue who as a bass player was influential when I was noodling around on my Rick when I was in high school. We talked about the Dregs and house remodeling and then parted ways. All in all the evening was as I had hoped. A great show with great friends.

AMAZING!

This blew the Humphrey's concert out the water. It's so hard to describe this concert is such a small amount of time. The Roxy venue itself was pretty sick, Joe's talks inbetween songs were fun to listen to, and straight up opening with Surfing With The Alien was sweeeeeeeeeeeet. Always With Me, Always With You's ending was stunning, and the closing number was a tear-jerker. Great Concert!
