TEN out of TEN JOE !-Well we sat outside the blue tent waiting for all the bands to finish, and squeezed our way in not too far from the front, about 12 people back I’d say. Joe’s gear was set up in record time-about 15/20 mins max before he came on stage. Mike Manning was ‘sound checking’ Joe’s guitar & the fella behind me said “Is that Joe”?… Everyone was chanting Joe-Joe-Joe for a couple of mins and then he came out with ‘Flying’. The spotlights were not always on him, but nearer the middle they were. They tended to be behind him that was how they were for the other bands I noticed-bah…shame! Joe was FULL of energy, and I was dancing the whole time, Joe was jumping around, the whole set was only 1 hour, so he put everything into it….not that he doesn’t always anyway. Satch Boogie-Always-with that long ending-SUPER COLOSSAL-terrific-it’s a shame Joe’s Super Colossal video was not shown on a screen behind him-but in the tent was only enough room for the band-& Joe has never arranged anything like that has he?? ***I loved Crowd Chant-what did we do before he wrote that song?? Everyone was in full voice, terrific. This is the closest I have ever been and oh boy…what a treat…. We left at 8.35 and headed straight for the tube (trains) & Aerosmith were due on the main stage just after this, and the ground staff in Hyde Park were saying …”Why are there hoards of people going already?”…I was smiling to think that if only they knew who the REAL talent were here today…***Many thanks Joe/Jeff and ALL the crew…special thanks to Rubina & ZZ for travelling sooo much…anibur**** -Can't wait until next time...

Although short (a 50 min cavalcade of the "classics") Joe and his fantastic band delivered yet another super-great performance! As the show went on the energy on stage kept rising - Joe was jumping around like crazy, Galen and Dave took center stage in turn and just ROCKED! and Jeff, pounding away like a mad man, couldn´t keep his arms down at the end of the set when it was time for a crowd chant!

This was my second time going to GB from Denmark to watch Joe play and it seems he has this thing for playing in England. He is totally on fire when playing on British soil (like in Newcastle last year!!) - or maybe I just caught him on a couple of particularly good days??! Definitely a 10-points show, ´cause all of the band was totally smoking! But I do look forward to the day when Joe´s albums from 1998-onwards become the "classics", because I would have really liked to hear him play some of the Crystal Planet-, EOC-, SBM- and ITLIS-stuff!!

Thanks to my "neighbours" in the front row as well for being in such high spirits!!

Set list: Flying, Extremist, Ice 9, Cool #9, Super Colossal, Satch Boogie, Surfing, Always, Crowd Chant, Summer Song

!!!!!!!MY FIRST SATCH GIG!!!!!!!! I have always been a Super Colossal fan of Joe's music and finally after years of disapointment having to miss various shows things worked out and I managed to see Joe play live at the Hyde Park festival!!! Even though It was a short set I couldnt complain one bit. All the crowd pleasers and chanters( lol) where played. Joe played with a real energy that you can only apreciate unless you see him live. After managing to get myself to the centere front with my Fiance we had to put up with a band that just would not finish their last song(they where a descent band but anticipation was high Mr Satriani!!!) anyway coming straight out with Flying in a blue Dream really set the crowd going, playing the song slightly improv was great infact allot of the songs deviated slightly from the recorded versions to give evryone a glimpse into Joe's musical geneius! All in all, I really cant wait for his next tour or whenever he comes back to the UK I will defo be trying my hardest to be there!!! SATCH IF YOU READ THIS, NICE GIG! BETTER THAN AEROSMITH! MADE MY YEAR!
