firstly i will say that joe satriani is absolutely insane with a guitar. earlier that day he so kindly signed my guitar and joe satriani cd the concert was awesome!! the venue was great (enmore) and i was right up the front.(which was so awesome because it was my first concert ever and i am only 13). i made eye contact with him a few times which felt quite cool. i couldnt believe the legendary joe satriani was really playing guitar 2 meters away from me. he played all my absolute favourites eg; bamboo, is there love in space, hands in the air, up in flames, starry night, always with me always with you and satch boogie. sounds like alot but the concert went for 3 hours!!! i thought after such a long time it would get boring watching someone play guitar, but joe is also an actor. he was jumping around, doing that right hand over the left hand thing getting the crowd to sing what he played... he is sawsome. i think we all felt that way because when they left everyone started screamin,"JOE JOE JOE JOE JOE JOE JOE JOE etc until they came back out and played a few more songs. i was so close to catching a pick. 3 people next to me all got picks, and the 4th person next to me fetched the drumstick. i was directly in front of Galen Henson. while joe was introducing a song, someone screamed WE LOVE YOU JOE. overall the concert was amazing and waatching the way he played has made me play better already.(im 13 and i am sweeping like anything) JOE YOU ARE AWESOME THANKS FOR AN AWESOMELY FUN NIGHT CYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was seriously the best performance I have ever seen!!! It was performed at a smallish venue so it felt very warm, and full of energy. I can't describe how great this concert was... I could see your fingers fret every note note on your guitar and I couldn't believe that you sound better live than on the CDs - it was mindblowing. I also loved the rest of the band too - Stu was raw and full of enery on the Bass, and Drums were awesome keeping it pumping...

Even though you could of filled the entertainment centre as your concerts were booked out, I am so thankful to see you at the Enmore- to see you play up close!!! I do almost anything to go back and experience that again... Thanks Joe!!! Keep at it - I don't know how you do it, but you do!!! You seriously make the guitar scream -I especially love those harmonics with the whammy bar - Waohwahh !!!

I seriously can't explain what your music does for me... I love getting home from work, cranking on a Satriani CD, have a few drinks, and then try to play some of your stuff on my guitar... and getting pretty close to playing along to the CDs too, hehe (thanks for the indirect lessons/inspiration too!!!). I wish I went to the Brisbane gig in a way though just for the meet and greet - will do next time!!!

Joe Satriani was MAGNIFICENT last night. It was so awesome and grungy, the best concert I think I have ever seen. It was at the right loudness, and he played so superbly. He did a combination of old and new numbers, several of my absolute favourites that I asked for from his website, and several more unasked for absolute favourites of mine that he and band even surprised me with. The whole show had that gorgeous "close up" near by phenomenpn / feel that used to happen at the Hordern Pavilion (Sydney). This was what a rock concert should be - where you stand in front of the power and range of a versatile and brilliant global guitarist - and he damn well really gives it to you! the best, his best, and chrst I still can't get over how he got all the notes on some of those amazingly complex and frenetic bits of guitaresquerie that he so good at. He was so very warm to the audience too, and gave such a friendly vibe. Hm, if we go to the States in August as planned, I've already warned the royal princess Margaret (wife) that we'll be gunning for more Joe playing sites. (M said 'I thought you were going to say that!' And say it I should!) Last thing I'll say is: I would have given it 10 - if Ceremony had been played! Just love that song. Ah, well, next time ... All the best to ONE OF THE WORLD'S GREATEST GUITARISTS! Thank you Joe! - And oh yeah just had to add, so zapped about Up In The Air as the first song! and then House Full of Bullets. And then Lords of Karma, Moroccan Sunset, Motorcycle Driver, and War! Totally spectacular! Thanks again!

Not only did the gig start on time, I don't think Satch missed a note all night! It's all about timing! This was a rip snorter... Managed to bring my binoculars along and was watching Joe tear it up. I wondered what he was playing through? Saw the amp behind and thought it looked like some kinda (US only) Hughes and Ketner jobby... but closer look... was amazed to see the 2 Peavey boxes and heads..... was even more amazed to see that they WEREN'T TURNED ON!!.....doh! I wondered how they were managing to keep the guitar so prominent in the PA mix.... must have been through some kind of direct box or sumpin because diddly squat was coming outta those boxes!! After the intermission someone musta realized the gaff and I saw lights on the heads in the 2nd set.... trouble was they were still in stand by!!! The Peavey's did look good though... That aside, the gig was screamin' and the crowd was right behind him the whole way. Even saw Australia's Cold Chisel guitarist Ian Moss in the intermission. I thought I coulda been in a gay nightclub at one stage, but I managed to spot 1 or 2 girls....whew..... We were even treated to an encore... Surfin' widda Alien. When I first saw Joe's bald cut years ago, I thought he had lost it. But it really fitted in with the 'Alien' vibe with the insect sunnies and all. (Better get the razor down to that arm hair though too...eeek!) Us 'Hoards of Locusts' left very satisfied, we'd had a shredding feast.

Oh my, where to begin. Considering this was the first concert I have ever attended, i think my expectations are now through the roof for any other concerts I will attend after this. Put it quite simply it was mind blowingly good. Favourites like Satch Boogie, Searching and Surfing with the Alien just took my breath away with some awesome guitar playing. You rock Satch, hopefully this time you come back soon :D
