Joe Satriani Webcast 2005 Contest Info & Rules

Basic Info

Back in 1996, Joe Satriani first embraced the Internet with a special live interview/webcast with fans. Through the years he has continued to build a relationship with his fans through the Internet through regular live webcasts, fan video greetings and other interactive elements on his web site.

This year Joe takes it to the next level by inviting an online fan to join him and conduct an interview at the taping of his April 7th, 2005 show in Anaheim, CA. The interview will be included as part of his next world-wide webcast to air May 1st, 2005. The lucky fan will be selected through a voting process by fellow fans on SATRIANI.COM throughout the month of March. Fans can submit their application (a paragraph of text about why they're suited to conduct the interview plus sample questions) and the winner will select questions from the entire online community to ask Joe in person the night of the show. The winner will also receive a collection of Joe's tour merchandise and receive 2 free tickets and aftershow passes to the concert.

NOTE: WINNER MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION TO THE SHOW IN ANAHEIM, CA.

How The Contest Works

From March 1 - March 20th

Registered satriani.com fans can fill out an entry form online at SATRIANI.COM. The form includes room for a couple of paragraphs of text telling other fans why they're the best person to do the interview as well as their top 5 questions that they hope to ask.

March 20th - March 31st

On March 20th, new entries are no longer accepted and the voting process begins. From March 20th through March 31st, each registered member can vote and rank each entry. In order to avoid ballot-stuffing, only members that were registered as of March 1 are eligible to vote.

April 1st

The winner will be announced April 1st online.

April 7th

The show happens and is recorded for the webcast!

May 1st

The webcast goes live!

How The Interview Works

The winner will get access to the venue after soundcheck for the interview which will last for 15-20 minutes and be video taped for editing and inclusion in the webcast. A photo of the winner with Joe will also be taken for the SATRIANI.COM website and the winner's own personal use.

The winner will be provided with their tickets, aftershow passes and tour merchandise, and then must exit the venue until the doors officially open.
