I brought along a couple of friends who live in the "boonies" and probably have never been to a concert. They were blown away as was I. It was a very good show, easily the best that I've ever seen. And I was going to concerts back when the 80's metal bands were all touring. We all agreed that it was very beautiful and inspiring music. Thanks......You're #1 fan in Northern Minnesota

This was the first time that I saw Satch live, and hopefully it won't be the last. My dad suprised me with tickets, and it was the best concert I have ever been to. The music was incredible, the atmosphere electric, and Satch kicked some major ass. He even played my favorite song, Rasberry Jam Delta-V. The guy just rocks, that's all there is to it. I'm going to see G-3 in Chicago in July, and can't stand how cool its gonna be. I can't wait.

This Concert was like entering the gates of Heaven man. I couldn't believe the shit you played. Stu's solo was better than last years. It's too bad that nobody was standing in the balcony where I was. Me and my friends were the only ones standing and screaming up there until we came down. The light show was amazing and my ears are still ringing from standing next to the speaker during the last couple of songs. It was great and you are still God.

My brothers and I went a week ago and we're still going through withdrawal. Joe, why didn't you give backstage passes? That would have pretty much completed my life. Anyway, the selection was perfect. I especially liked the new version of "Crush of Love". "Time" as an opener was awesome. "Devil's", "Borg Sex" "Train of Angels" "SatchBoogie" "Summer song" "Flying" "Circles" "One Big Rush" "Mystical"---All very cool. Amazed at Stu's Bass Solo. I didn't know that was possible with a Bass Guitar. Lost my voice after Crystal Planet. I have to agree with wireman that the show was mostly too loud. But that wasn't Joe's fault. I wish you would have one of your Acoustics like Brother John or Midnight. Lighting was effective-especially on Circles, Flying, Borg Sex and Devil's Slide. Show as a whole was unbelievable. JOE, WE CAN'T WAIT UNTIL YOU COME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Hey Joe! How's it go'in. The show was great. It was the first of your concerts that I've ever been to. I was amazed. The music was mind blowing. You could have played a little bit more from the new album though. Still, the concert kicked ass. I've never heard Stu play a solo before. Damn he's good. Anyway, thank's again. You truly are the Guitar God.

My Personal Opinion Of The Performance At The Minneapolis State Theatre... Absolutely BREATH-Taking . Not only Was The Stage Setup And Venue Great But Joe, Dude, YOU Are A Fantastic Musician!! Granted The Rest Of The Group Played Fantastic But As A First-Time Joe Satriani Concert Goer, Mr. Satriani Definitly Leaves You Wanting Hours More Of His Playing!! I Tried Last Year To Get Tickets At A Smaller Venue He Was Scheduled To Play At- Within 15 Minutes Of It's Announcement On The Radio It Was Sold Out! I've Been A Fan For Years And The CD's Are Really Great But You've GOT To See This Guy LIVE!

Simply the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. Not only did you play many of the songs that I wanted to hear, but you played some that I had never heard before, and frankly, I can't imagine it being any other way. I loved when Stu played his solo. I knew he was good, but I never thought he was a god. To sum it up, you has no equal, and your preformance proved so. Thank's Joe.

joe, great show. i went to the one in 98 and thought that it was a little better. you played about a half hour longer that time. wish you would have played a few more songs of the new album. i thought it was pretty bad that you had to pay $40 for a shirt to get the bonus cd. i just bought the cheaper one. i had better seats and took a lot of pictures. i saw you outside by your bus after and wanted a picture with you but i was all out. well anyways great show, come back real soon. have any planes for the G32K. that would be nice if you came for that.

satch is god the great dustina

This show would have been a 10 but it was so darn loud. I like to feel the power of Joe's playing but my ears ring at least 3 days every time I see him. I can't say enough though about how well he played. Loved "The Extremist", "Mystical Potato Head", and "Friends". I hadn't heard Friends since the Extremist tour. Nice treat. Thanks Joe for giving me a reason to play guitar.

I can only think of one word that can possibly describe this show... WOW

He had good timming at picking Friday to come because I got the flue Saturday and I would have been misserable going to the concert sick.

This was my first Satch concert and I would definately attend another one if he came back. I have a few friends that I have converted into Satchaholics that missed the concert, so please come back Satch. You should have played War.

TOTAL SENSORY OVERLOAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ("but I like it!") Being a guitarist myself, also pursuing the instrumental/virtuoso genre, there is nothing more humbling than seeing Joe live. I only wish I had gotten closer seats, but I didn't hear about the show until like three days before, at which point I immeately freaked out and ran around town to get tickets. After getting them, I would periodically shout out a count down of how many hours, minutes, and seconds were left until showtime for the next three days, often inviting puzzled stares from my peers. For three days I only listened to Joe Satriani Albums, and when I picked up my guitar I could only play Joe Satriani tunes. I was psyched!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The show was the coolest thing I have ever seen. It was my first time seeing Joe live and now I'm in severe withdrawal. JOE PLEASE COME BACK TO THE TWIN CITIES RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need more!!!!! Oh God, I'm gonna be wired for weeks.... The lighting effects fit the songs perfectly, like the blinding flashes during "Devil's Slide" and "Borg Sex". "Summer Song", "One Big Rush", "Surfing with the Alien".... All my faves (actually, every Satch tune is my fave). The sound was HUUUUUUUUUUGE!!!!!!!!!! (though sometimes it seemed a bit too loud, and satches riffs would get lost in the mess) The theater rocked; by the end people were dancing in the aisles, one guy was up in the far end of the balcony with the lights on him playing air guitar, two girls in the balcony were lifting up their shirts, and whole time I was grinning and laughing hysterically with every lick Satch played, even the (very few) that I can pull off. Joe had us all possessed. And Stu's solo basswork was AWESOME, even though there were some jackasses booing him for some reason. I personally would like to apologize for them if I may. I will definitely buy Stu's album. If Satch had been here two nights I would have bought tickets for both shows. It was abso-freekin'-lutely WAY more than worth every penny. After the show, I didn't want to leave, and as I walked back to my car with my friends I felt sorry for all the kids getting out of the Korn Concert down the street (some of my other friends had gone there). They just didn't know what they had missed. SATCH COME BACK

Wow. I am still reeling from that show. I found myself having one of two expressions through the show. Either my mouth was hanging wide open in stupified wonder(my mouth was very dry by the end of the show) or I was laughing like a goon at some ridiculously complicated riff he played. Now, I have this goofy grin stuck on my face, and it won't go away. Last night was my 1st time seeing Joe live, by the way. He is so amazing. Highlights for me were the sound level (I like it loud) because I could feel the music all the way to my toes, It just went through me. Stu's solo just floored me. I will definitely be buying his solo album. I don't think there was a song I didn't like, and while there wasn't any songs I didn't recognize, I am not sure of the names because when I listen to Joe I just listen to the whole CD. I also thought the girls w/ the colored hair were somewhat amusing, but the guy right next to them was hilarious. That had to be the most awesome air guitar solo I've ever seen in my life. The girl who sat on the security guards lap to get a picture of Joe made me laugh too. She just crushed her chest into the security guards face. All in all one of the best shows I've ever seen. By the way, the lighting design was wonderful, the lights matched the songs perfectly. Could do without the bright ones that flash into the audience. You can feel your pupils expand and contract with every flash. Thank you so very, very much, Sarah Rudolph Rekless_fabl@hotmail.com

P.S. If anyone saw me, you should know who I am. I was as far as I noticed, the only female in the audience with a Steve Vai T-shirt on.(The Ultra Zone)

Great show!...I agree with one previous posting. They did'nt need to blow me out of the chair with volume. I was in the second row center and I was mesmerized by tha music and Joe alike. From "Cool #9" to "Surfing with the alien" It was great I also was intrigued by the 2 gals with the colored hair...But it was big fun. I read the Star Tribune this morning for a review of the show but instead the local critic thought the "Korny" show was more important...What a laugh Name a live artist that can rock a house like that with less than 100 words spoken for 3 hrs nuff said

GREAT SHOW!!! Joe only sang one song, but he sure rocked the house. Played the popular songs and 3 or 4 new ones off EOC. Encore was FRIENDS and RUBINA. Stu played Charlie Brown theme in bass solo. Nice touch for the home town crowd. BIG BAD MOON for the Timberwolves. Already looking forward to next tour. Set list included (but not in order): FIBD, Time Borg Sex ATTACH Summer song Until we say goodbye Satch Boogie Surfing with the alien big bad moon train of angels up in the sky love thing friends and Rubina. Can't remember the rest. Will add later if possible. ROCK ON JOE!!!!! PEACE. Also played Potatoe head groove thing and Always with me . Would have been better if toned down just a little as far as volume. Would have liked to hear more singing. Still a GREAT SHOW THOUGH>

the black clad leather "snake" demon is definitely at his peak performance... his ability to "stretch out" and improvise a bit on songs like "cool #9" and "the crush of love" show confidence and pure talent. the over all sound quality was top notch... very well blended between instruments. i rate this as the best satriani performance minneapolis has ever seen.

whoo-wee!!! joe and company jammed. they definately delivered!! 3 hours of satriania best music and i still wanted more. so did the minneapolis crowd from what i saw. stu hamm's bass solo received a standing ovation. i don't think there was one dissapointed fan in the seats. i have and will always be a fan of joe. i still can't believe how wonderful it sounded. this is the first time i have seen joe by himself (1st was with G3) and i hope i don't have to wait too long to see him again. joe you are an excellent guitarist, musician, and performer. thank you so very much i will remember this show for years to come!!

thanks much rick!!

For SCREAMING out loud! Both my friend and I (long time satch heads) thought that show was just STUPID loud. What an incredible band. Too bad trigger fingers at the sound board was trying to impress some girls. The nuances of Joe's incredible guitar work would be mostly lost if I had to wear ear plugs to every show. I've read many times that Joe plays these small venues because of their accoustic value. Funny how just one guy can screw it all up. Please, either have his hearing checked, send him back to school, or just have him sit in one of the first 20 or 30 rows for a show...

Outstanding!! A hard-rockin' show. and yet, one I was able to take my 10 year-old daughter to. Now she can't possibly think of listening to the "boy bands" after hearing such good "stuff". The one thing that would have made this show a perfect 10, wuld have been Lords Of Karma. The lights were impressive. At one point, a shaft of light reflected off Chromeboy, and shot through the smoke directly at me, and lit everything up around me. WOW! I felt like i was singled out of the crowd for a moment. It was great to hear, live, the music that kept me warm in Antarctica last winter.---- Loved Borg Sex, Circles, Train of Angels, Clouds, Ceremony, ALL OF THEM! ---- STU's kept it groovy with "Quahogs Anyone" solo. Do we have to wait 'til july for Stu's album? Whats next Joe, can you come back? PLEASE? ---WWWESTY@JUNO.COM

This was my fifth time seeing Joe live, and this show was the best of all of them. Every song was executed with absolute perfection. The sound was great, the light were great, I was blown away! I give major credit to Jeff Campitelli for doing so great on the drums. He pulled the new stuff off great! And Stu's bass solo, a jaw-dropper. Thanks to Eric C. for being so cool after the show, and a great job during the show...especially on Borg Sex. I can't wait to see G3 when it comes rolling through Minneapolis, hopefully soon. Bye the way, Chicago......You are in for a treat. Peace

Another great show by Joe and crew as expected, the lights added a nice touch, especially on Flying in a Blue Dream and Circles. Gotta love the blue and orange hair babes main floor near the front, also the dude with the pony tail dancing in the center aisle was hilareous. My favorite (the show opener) is still: Time. Can't wait for the next show!

I last saw Joe appear in columbus, Ohio on the Alien tour. He has gotten so much better live since then. This concert was nothing less than perfect. The songs were incredible and Stuarts solo was outstanding. I dont think there is nothing this man can't do on the guitar. Keep it up Joe, hope to see you soon in Minneapolis again.

Excellent show. The addition of Eric Caudieux gives the music a little more than previous shows. I guess you could say its a fuller sound. It would have been nice to hear more new music from Engines of Creation, but the concert was still very good. I sure hope he comes back to Minnesota this summer with G3.
