I was far from the STAGE. But when JOE slept on it you can just feel the energy flowing through the CROWD.The concert was the BEST but THE BEST concert EVER.The songs like COOL #9 Surfing With The Alien had a best applause. Sadly JOE never came back.We once again ask you TO VISIT THE BELGRADE AND ROCK THE COUNTRY THAT IS LOUSING ITS PERCENTAGE OF PEOPLE THAT STILL LISTEN ROCK.

Long time Joe fan. First time I almost saw him was two years a go (2004) during the last G3 tour. I say almost because, after flying from Macedonia to Vienna, then taking a train to Geneva/Evian, and driving back to Zurich for the gig, my girlfriend fainted during the concert! I spent most of it with the security guys trying to revive her. The reason for the whole detour was that she is French, from Toulouse. Two years go by and I am all excited that Joe is on tour again. During most of May I was in Rome, for an exhibition. As soon as concert tickets go on sale I get two (one for me the other for her). Rome seems the closest place to Macedonia concert wise and the plane ticket is not that expensive compared to say Paris or Brussels. I get all happy and excited, the works. Besides, the Rome concert happens to be on the same date as the fainted Zurich one, (on Joe’s birthday 15th of July); so I am thinking to my self: poetic justice! Better a full Joe concert then a dude playing a harp as a warm up gig for him and Vai. But then I get back home to Macedonia and I discover that Joe is playing in Belgrade (when I was buying the tickets in Rome the Belgrade concert wasn’t listed on his web site), which is much closer not to mention cheaper (getting to Rome, staying there, getting back…). So I say hey, we’ll just drop the Rome concert and go see him in Belgrade. We get on the 2 am bus from Skopje to Belgrade, get in Belgrade around 8: 30, all primed up, (I actually bring a copy of my masters thesis, which I want to give to Joe; he is in the acknowledgments). We walk around Belgrade for couple of hours and then the fateful phone call comes. Her dog, the one she brought over from Toulouse just a few days earlier, ran away from the dog hotel, safe-care-place we left him in so we can go see the concert. We hop on the first bus back. I have four Supper Colossal tour tickets framed on my wall of fame.

FINALY, I HAD A CHANSE TO SEE JOE SATRIANI IN MY HOMETOWN BELGRADE N' IT WAS GREAT...I'M A BIT SAD 'CAUSE I COULDN'T HEAR SONG LIKE THE FORGOTTEN-LIVE BUT JOE WAS FANTASTIC..NEVER MIND THAT......STEVE VAI PLAYED IN NOV '05 N' HIS CONCERT WAS FANTASTIC TOO, BUT I MUST SAY THAT I ENJOYED SATRIANI'S CONCERT BETTER, AT LEAST 'CAUSE HE PLAYED IN SAVA CENTER (BETTER SOUND)...SO I HOPE TO SEE THEM IN G3 TOUR SOMEDAY SOON IN BELGRADE....SATRIANI RULES!!!!

Aaaah, what a fine day for music!!! Now I got my impressions right. This was probably the years best concert. Vai did the last years best show in November, but the venue was too small(SKC). Hats off to Adrian Legg too, he made somewhat aerial magic with his equipment, I really enjoyed it! And for Joe, now he can really sparkle and he did!!! In 2004 on a G3 concert in Budapest he was a little restrained, maybe beacause of the short set. But now he showed how to rock on a high level. For moments he reminded me of Michael J. Fox in Back to the future, when he plays Jonnie B. Good, I think of the leg movements! Started with Flying in a blue dream, that song always bring goosepocks to my body, it has wonderful chords and melody! By the way that Super Collosal song is a real gem, packed with energy and pace. Of course he played Satch boogie, Circles, Summer song, Cool#9, Oriental melody, Always with me,always with you, Surfing with the alien, etc. For a moment the crowd chanted Happy birthday and he was overwhelmed! And the crowd chant went really good, of course on the complicated parts not exactly, but it was a great experience. Thanks Joe and Happy birthday, if you have not heard me in the crowd. And we are waiting for the G3 to come to Belgrade-in a stadium if it is possible, it'll be full!!!

Man, one of the best nights in my life, great playing, but that is the only thing i could have expected. Who knew, that a great guitar player like Adrian Legg would make things more interesting, and then, when Joe added a couple more minutes of something new into a few songs I knew that this is something really special. Best thing was when he added about 5 more minutes into song "Always with me, always with you". I really thaught that he was playing something new, and then he finnished it off with the real ending. Great concert, thanks Satriani for a great time, and I hope you had so much fun as we did :)

Last night was "Not of this earth" as I was "Surfing with the ALIEN" with absolutely magnificent impro-ending for each one of his beautifull songs. Joe was in my country for the first time (hope not the last ;) and I really hope he liked it, and people too. Giving the show a 9 is not for the quality, but for the quantity. Every note that Satch played was flawless, and solos and his improvisations were literaly perfect. I just wanted to hear more songs, like Crystal Planet, Big Bad Moon, Searching.... But than again, I don't know if his entire discography would appease my hunger for his music. Thank u again Joe, hope to se you soon. I wish you a lot of fun and succes in the rest of this year's Super Colossal tour. For me, it was the night I'll never forget...

What a concert!!

My only regret is being far away from stage, but it was good anyway. Satch played all my favorite songs and finished with my all time favorite.

When he played crowd chant, nobody around me knew how the melody realy went so it was kinda good to actualy hear my own voice over the Satch's live music.

It was amazing. Do not forget us Satch.

WOW! This was worth waitong for yaers! This was the first time I saw Satriani live and it was (almost) as I dreamed of... I had the tickets for the best seats (read: first row in front of Satch), so I saw the whole thing in details. Joe and the crew, the gear... everything. The venue is a true pride of Belgrade, but it is a "sitting" hall. I think it'd be much more fun to be in a standing crowd chanting. Adrian Legg and his brilliant playing were amazing! He only played for about 45 mins, but I'll remember it for a long time. Satch played for about 2 hours and it was as good as I expected. The Crowd Chant realy starts making it's point when did live with Joe. Unfortunately, there were some things that made rank this gig only 8:
- choice of venue
- lack of "eye contact" with Joe (I know all about the image thing and so on, but it feels much, much better when you see the man looking at his eyes, at least for a glance)
- the thing I mind most is that Joe didn't show up after the gig, but has "escaped" through some other gate. Dave and Adrian went by, and we said hellos and had a chat with them, but Joe didn't, even if ther were less than 30 people waiting for him...

Well, it still was awesome and after 13 years of loving his music, and almost as long for waiting to se him play live, there is only one thing I can say:THANKS, JOE ! ! ! !
