I arrived close to 3pm ~ there were already about 8-9 people in front of the store, talking to a smartly-dressed young woman in a pinstripe business suite ~ something about needing passes ........ I had no pass, the fans in front of me didn't have passes, hadn't heard anything about needing passes ~ we were all determined to wait in line and hope to get in ~ I was genuinely concerned about my prospects, even having arrived as early as I had ~ the fans all shared their indignance that Joe's website hadn't said anything about passes ~ all of us were upset there would be fans arriving with passes who would get into the store before us, IF WE GOT IN AT ALL ....... /////// one person said it was mentioned on the Daddy's website ~ to which I replied, "why would I visit their website? I walk past this store almost every day ~ no signs in the windows, nothing" ~ there was no link to Daddy's website on satriani.com, nor any mention of needing a pass to attend the in-store /////// the business-woman came out and told everyone who didn't have a pass to move to the back of the line ~ the original dozen, we reluctantly gave up our position, much to the delight of the fans behind us as they moved up ~ my objection to moving to the back of the line was there could be others without passes who would then be in front of us and that was hardly fair ~ they could have formed TWO LINES instead of asking people to give up their place in line /////// There were a LOT of comments from the fans nearby saying they were for sure gonna let satriani.com know about this fiasco, including this pointed comment from me: "Joe's gonna hear about this: ~BELIEVE~ ~ME~ .he. .will. .hear. .about. .this!!!" ~ somewhere in there, I'm not sure exactly when, a teenager standing behind me quietly said, I have an extra pass, do you want it? I was dumbfounded ~ are you serious? yes, of course! ~ I could scarcely believe my good fortune ~ I thanked him profusely over and over ~ he was very quiet, this polite young man from Machester NH ~ Kyle and his mom and dad -- fans "since forever" -- had attended a George Lynch in-store thingy at Daddy's in Manchester, and were given the passes after playing a Peavey amp ~ this was apparently the method for getting the passes ~ they reportedly handed out 200 of these puppies ~ hard plastic laminated, dated, and with a Daddy's lanyard ~ I put that sucker around my neck and breathed a huge sigh of relief /////// I felt bad for the other fans in the original dozen, but there was only one pass available in this instance, and I was by myself ~ these others were all in groups of two and three ~ they opened the doors and I walked right in, regretfully leaving my non-pass compatriots out there in the cold ~ I never saw them again that day ~ don't know if they got in at the back but even if they did, I'm sure you couldn't see a thing from back there! ~ some might say so what if they couldn't attend or hear the performance, they would be let in the store after some of the original 200 fans were done shaking Joe's hand, so they would certainly have the opportunity for an autograph and a moment with Joe, but this is beside the point ~ the die-hard dozen came WAY early, we froze our butts off, and all for the chance to be on the front row ~ to me the TRUE THRILL was being up close to watch Joe's performance~! [[..Joe, this was SUCH A TREAT~!!!..]] definitely a day to remember ~ but the Peavey pass thing needed explanation on satriani.com ~ Joe, this was SO unfair!!! ~ I was EXTREMELY fortunate, that's all I can say, especially knowing others through no fault of their own were not as lucky /////// Cheers and Jeers: Cheers to Joe for doing the in-store! Joe you are one hard-working dude ~ seeing you perform so close was an incredible and unforgettable delight ~ and that's an understatement! ~ Cheers also for your long-suffering patience with your many fans in that long, long autograph/photograph line, and to think you'd been doing this for two weeks ~ wOw ~ Jeers to Daddy's and Peavey for not communicating the need for PASSES to satriani.com, or if they did, Jeers to whoever's fault it was the die-hards at the front of the line never got a heads-up from this website about how to get ~INSIDE~ the store to see Joe "Up Close and Personal" ~ Thanks again Joe for everything you do ~ you are always so good to your fans ~ one can only assume if you'd had your way the missing information would have been posted on this site ~ if you have any say in avoiding a situation like this in the future, please do everything you can to let your fans know the entrance requirements ...peace2all... ~faye

Hi Joe --- My name is Sherry. I met you yesterday @ Daddy's in Boston. I'm the red-headed nervous ironworker with all the tattooes. I just wanted to say first of all-- Your performance was outstanding like always. Second-- While I waited in line for an autograph I'd look over periodically and watch you interacting with everyone and I've gotta say-- I feel like I've just met the nicest person on the planet! The presence you radiate is so genuinely sweet! You seemed sincerely interested in what EVERY single person there had to say. I think I can speak for everyone when I say, " You have an unconscious ability to make each individual you come in contact with feel important and special." I just wanted you to know I had hoped to meet you for about 18 years now to thank you for your music but today I would like to thank you again-- just for being the person you are. I feel extremely honored and privileged to have come in contact with such a great individual!!! The only other thing I wanted to say that I couldn't manage to stutter out of my mouth yesterday was-- I gave you my business card "The Iron Maiden." If you EVER have a free second, could you PLEASE, PLEASE let me know what you think of my ironwork and/ or the website? I built it myself and it would mean alot to me to have your opinion. I have a lot of respect for anything you have to say. THANKS SO MUCH!! My web address again is: www.theironmaiden.net You can e-mail right from the site. Also, if your family needs any ironwork, I specialize in custom work and have already added a quote on my site so you'd know-- for you and yours, a specialized rate! haha Thanks Joe! PEACE, Sherry

Well I must say my experience was way much better, first of all I was in the first row, squeezed under a speaker but who cares, second Joe complimented me on my guitar( the Donnie replica). They could have placed the stage a little better or at least put chairs, I've seen several clinics at Daddy's and they were much more enjoyable but it was free and the possibility to see one of my guitar mentor in action 5 feet from me was priceless. Thanx to Joe , Mike and everybody who was involved. Cheers Stefano Giusti

Ok well I wrote a review yesterday but apparently that didn't work so here goes again. The Daddy's in store stuff is poorly set up so I could not see a thing the whole time, being on the low end of average height and all. But I can't complain really cause it was a free joe show! I was glad to hear some new tunes live even if they were just over backing tracks, and Joe's tone sounds great with the new JSX amp. Then after not too long a wait I got to meet him again, but as with both other times I've been face to face with Joe I couldn't think of anything good to say to him, at least not anything that hasn't been said a million times. So after a hello and a handshake, Joe convinced me to let him sign my tshirt even though I have plenty of autographs already and told him to rest his hand. Well, one more won't hurt! Anyway, good seeing you again joe and I can't wait till your next solo tour swings around here. Sorry I don't have anything good to say, hahaha.
