The first Satch concert I had seen, and I didn't know what to expect. Needless to say, he blew my mind. I had never EVER seen the guitar played like that, and it was a thing of mystery to see it played like that. The music was even more beautiful live, watching him perform it gave me a really deep appreciation for not on ly the instument and the music, but how talented and without equal Joe is. Although I really wish I could have been able to attend without having to order that $20 "gourmet" chicken (I'm beginning to think that gourmet is French for "lacking any flavor whatsoever"). It is easily the best concert I went to in my entire life, though I wish I would have caught one of those picks he threw out.

This was by far the greatest show of the year. Joe performed 'Midnight' which i have not seen him perform in years. Great show.

My First Satch concert ever attended, and it fooking ROCKED. Too bad there was that one drunk guy in the front that kept pestering Joe... and, in comparison, the sign my brother made (which read "The Mighty Turtle Head") was far less obnoxious than he was. Joe rocked anyway, and it was totally cool meeting him after the show. I spazzed out all bad. But he was still nice enough for pictures and autographs. It RULED.

WELL, AFTER THIS SHOW, I'M TOTALLY CONVINCED. YOU KEEP DOING SOMETHING AND PRACTICING, YOU ONLY GET BETTER ! I WASN'T SURE THERE WAS A WAY FOR JOE TO GET ANY BETTER AS A GUITARIST. I EXPECTED MORE MUSIC, BUT HOW MANY SOLOS CAN YOU LAY DOWN THAT JUST BLOW PEOPLE AWAY. HE WAS AWESOME, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ! THE CROWD WAS SPEECHLESS. AND AS FOR ME, I WAS IN HEAVEN. I'VE BEEN PLAYING AS LONG AS JOE HAS AND HE DOES EVERYTHING THAT I WANT TO. THAT'S THE NEXT BEST THING. AT LEAST SOMEONE'S DOING WHAT YOU NEED TO FILL YOUR SOUL. I HAD AFTERSHOW PASSES (THANX GALEN) AND GOT TO TALK TO "THE MAN" (OR IS HE A GOD) AND HE IS SO COOL AND NICE. HE TRIES TO GIVE EVERYONE A PIECE OF HIS TIME, AND EVERYBODY WAS IN HIS FACE. SO, I TOOK WHAT I COULD GET AND I GUESS WE'RE LUCKY TO GET THAT FROM SOMEONE SO UNIQUE. JUST KEEP PLAYIN' JOE. WE NEED YOU ! NOW I'M OFF FRIDAY TO SEE HIM AGAIN AT THE HOUSE OF BLUES ON SUNSET.....SO EVERYONE EAT YOUR HEART OUT. THIS WILL BE MY 9TH SHOW....... I LOVE YOU MAN !.. .......I REALLY WANTED TELL JOE HOW MUCH I RESPECT HIM AND APPRECIATE THE " HARD PRACTICE AND DEDICATION" IT TAKES TO GET TO YOUR LEVEL. I JUST DIDN'T HAVE TIME SAY EVERYTHING I WANTED TO. SO, RIGHT-ON JOE. BY THE WAY: YOU DON'T NEED AN OPENER, WE'RE ALL THERE TO SEE YOU. YOU MAKE ANYONE ELSE LOOK BAD! AND PLAY SOME MORE STUFF OFF CRYSTAL PLANET-THAT CD ROCKS

Another great delivery and display of atomics by Joe and friends. It was refreshing to hear some of his other great tunes- Crushing Day and Time Machine was great. Joe also used a wide variety of different guitars throughout the show. I like the fact that Joe did some different & creative things with The Crush of Love towards the end. Those occasional neat twists and changes really give the songs a different dimension. The crowd always seems kick back at the Grove for some reason. I think it's more of a sit back and enjoy the music- more than the usual energetic crowd. NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT! Matt Bissonette was great but I think the bass mix was a little too much. His solo with Jeff was very entertaining. Hope Joe continues to bring future shows to the Grove.

This was my seventh Satch gig and it was very cool to hear Time Machine for the first time. Joe commented that they really monitor the web site to see what people want to hear, and his playing Time Machine was proof. I was a little disappointed with the sound mixing, the bass and drums seemed MUCH louder than Joe and it was often hard to hear his play unless he was playing higher notes. I've seen Joe at the Grove (formerly Sun Theater) before and I don't remember this being a problem previously. The lighting effects were very cool, seems like they put a little more into that this show. I'm planning on going to the HOB show on Saturday, I hope the sound there is a little better. Overall, another great show though!

Another outstanding performance by Joe and company. As usual, Joe's playing was impeccable and his tone was huge. The set list was great and included a fair number of songs that weren't played the last time Joe came to Orange County such as "Time Machine", "Crushing Day", "Why" and "MIdnight." I really enjoyed the seven string songs from the new album. Joe, you deliver in a big way every time I see you. Thanks for the great show!

My 16th Satch gig. Just like in August in San Diego and L.A., he played Crushing Day and Midnight... awesome. AND he played Time Machine and Why? from the Extremist album!!! Met up with Jeff Campitelli after the show again to chat for a bit... such a nice guy, even as tired as he & the rest were. Little sleep... just flew into town at 5pm, etc. I told him how I dug the drum & bass solo he and Matt did, which is new... wasn't done four months ago earlier in the tour. Jeff said Joe had always wanted Jeff to do a solo, but Jeff didn't feel all that comfortable with showing off... not much new to be done in that department, etc... but Joe asked again, wanting a 5 minute break during the wonderfully long "Evening with Joe" sets... Joe said get with Matt and work something out... and Voila! Jeff and Matt came up with their integrated solos... not really solos then I guess, lol... but it was really nice. And Jeff was really cool in sharing the story in how he and Matt worked on their song and then pared it down to the dual solo song thing for the show. A few years back I got Joe to sign my Valley Arts "Hey Ed, you suck! Take some lessons - Joe Satriani"... this time I had him sign my JS-6000... "Hey Ed, You Still Suck! - Joe Satriani", LMAO... thanks Joe!
