WOW! What can i say? This was the first time I ever seen any of them (Dreamtheater, Joe Satriani, Kings X) I was totaly floored. My father and I were driving from Panama City beach and we forgot about the hour difference. we missed Kings X, but i was like "Kings Who?"(sorry Ty) I was there to see Dream Theater! Ever sence I was 3, i was lestening to Yes and Ledzepplin, so prog rock runs throow me. Now that im 18, ive been playing guitar for about two and ahalf years. I find it very hard to believe that guitarist who listen to Joe Satriani have stated "he makes you want to cut your hands off." It is because of Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Steve Howe, and Jimmy Page, Pain OF Salvationt,i'm ableto play songs like, Stary Night, Cool#9, Voices, The ocean, Long Distance Runabout, and about any thing by all these TRUE artest. The inspiration I get from these Great musicians is un Matchable to (except for the few, Mesuggah, opeth, stratovarious, etc.) the recycled, filltered trash that pollutes many of our radio waves. But like many of the other reviews, IT was an extreamly long night. And no one seemed to respond to DreamTheater, and i found that disturbing. But i could sense that DT seemed a little disstressed? Joe didnt seem so relaxed as well. Thats why i gave it a nine. I'm now looking forward to meeting Joe, Via, and Malmsteen backstage at the 11/2/03 concert. Hope to see you there. Kenny M Mullins

3rd time seeing Satch. I took my girlfriend to this show, and it was her first. Before the show, I just kept telling her it was not comparable to any other show, and she'd have to see it to understand. Much longer sets from all groups, compared to the show in Albuquerque, NM. I liked the outdoor setting at the Journal Pavillion a little better, but it didn't make that big a difference. The show was great. It seemed like it would never end....and when it finally did, my girlfriend understood what I meant. She was mad though. She had been going to all these concerts, and couldn't believe this one blew all the others away with ease. See you soon.

As this was my first time seeing Joe, I was floored. Plus i had never listened to Dream Theater or King's X, so thatwas a BIG plus. I loved them all. Except during DT's set there were these two retards standing up and blocking my view of DT. I wish I had a rock. Anyway, I loved seeing the "impossible" (lol) Crushing Day live. and Joe, there were these two guys sitting in front of me who absolutely loved it even though they were rap guys. Much love to your familia, and thanks for all the inspiration Joe!

Let me start off by saying that Joe is my favorite guitarist in the world period. The length of these three preformances was too much. Joe didn't seem to be as relaxed as usual, it was the first time I ever noticed that the sound wasn't right at one of Joe's shows. There were times when I knew I should be hearing notes from Joe's guitar, his fingers were moving but I couldn't hear anything but the muddy over tone of the band and when Joe's guitar started to fade back in, it almost sounded flat. The most disturbing thing about this was that it happened on almost every song. I know that signal cancellation happens in live shows but this was ridiculous. I did enjoy the show in spite of it all, "Midnight" and "MPGT" stick out the most. I'm glad I went and I wouldn't have missed it for the world,... It can't be perfect every time. I think Kings-X and Joe would have made for a better show. It's kinda like going out for dinner and ordering a 3lb. Lobster and a 24oz. Porterhouse, they both sound delicious but it's really too much to take in at one time... I agree with guitarrpsycho about DT......If I had a choice I'd prefer an evening with Joe Sartiani.

The show was anticlimatic for me since I happened to meet Joe (with family) and Jeff at the hotel restaruant just out of pure luck. I was wearing my Extremist tour T and I am sure Joe noticed that the hostess put me right next to their table and was thinking "Oh Sh*t". But I had my meal and waited for everyone at their table to finish before I went over and said hi. Everyone was incredibly nice and indulged me with a nice long conversation on various topics. As for the show - it was a test of endurance. Kings X on at 7:30pm and Joe finished after 11:30pm makes for a long night. I really wish this tour featured more of Joe (no offense to Kings X - but Dream Theater and Satriani is plenty, and they both could benefit from more time). Due to time constraints Joe only played 3 songs from the SBM, but at least they included "7 String" - which was a highlight for me. Surprised he didn't play Surfing with the Alien. As much as I hate the HOB (Orlando) - I am actually looking forward to that show since it drove me nuts to sit through Joe's set.

Hi folks...!! the reason I give this a nine is because of the other bands on the bill..and the place in which it was played. First off, no complaints on the seats at all..just a few feet away...people having a good time..nice looking women..plenty of rock tshirts..as always.

Kings X : This band has been around along time..and it showed in the way they played and worked off each other, very jam intensive..Mesa Boogie cabinets..it looked as if they were just pleased to play..and they used there stage time very effectively..class act for only a three piece unit..

Dream Theater : Uggh...I know people are going to hate me for saying what I will...but this is America...DT just doesn't cut it with me...although some of there progessions and phrasings are not bad at all...but what they offer is just the standard fare..and this Dennis Deyoung/Fabio lead singer man..best use for ear plugs I can think of. when they just jammed it wasn't bad..In my opinion..if they got rid of the keyboard..this music doesn't need it...and that singer...a zillion trillion just like him all around...blond hair and that high pitched shrill...and that little screen they think there Pink Floyd..it's laughable...mediocre at best

Joe : What can I say..? he is the reason I was there..his fingers are beautiful to watch..the best make it look easy..and he is the best..."Flying in a Blue Dream" intro killed...mostly classics, nice to hear "Crushing Day" too. sonic guitar flights that make my blood boil...and my jaw hit the floor. way too short..could've heard him all night...makes you realize that guitar is in the heart, and if Joe's music doesn't grab it...you're dead in the water. can't wait for the next time around already.. after 15 plus years..Satriani is still the man...!!
