Steve Vai stole the show. Hes a show man and a great guitar player. Satriani played like in a hurry, like he was tired of being on the road and wanted to do the job and go home. I really was a little disapointed, i went to see Satriani and now i love Vai. Satriani WASNT playing as good as in 'LIVE IN SAN FRANCISCO' video.

A serenade of almost 4 hours of the most beautiful music that people have heard here, we had a dreamer showing his brilliant technique, an extremist that made us fly and an alien that made us shake. The most important part of the show for me was when Joe started to play "Always With Me, Always With You" and my boyfriend and me started to dance, because that's my favorite song of Satch, i'd never tought he was going to play that song. Thanks for made me happy.

THis show was GREAT, the best part of all is that Joe knows who I am I gave him a square metal bangle which he wore on the concert because I asked him to, he did that for me and that wasn´t all he thanked me in front of everyone in the concert and I shouted crazy!! because it was me! I never thought something this big could happen to me so I thank my friend Joe for his amazing performance and his concern in his biggest fans, then i won a contest for meeting him after the concert and I met him took pictureswith him he signed my guitar I also met Vai, Petrucci, Sheehan. I had the best moment in my entire life I hope I have this much luck when Joe comes again, I promise I´ll fight to win all contests in order to see him again. Joe is a great example that even though if you got everything in you, you can spend great quality time with those who love you and follow you trough your entire career as a musician. Thanks Joe love you Meredith Orozco from Monterrey

P.S. I will always remember this moment, this marked my life forever I hope you never forget me, thanks GRACIAS

It´s a sin to try to explain the magical night that we had.

Three angels came to Monterrey and touched us with their celestial music.

I hope someday my guitar playing gets to be just fair... It´d take three life times to achieve the perfection that Joe, John and Steve have.

Thank you Steve, John and Joe for that incredible night!

I wont forget it for the rest of my life!

WOW! I must say that this show was totally awesome! Last year I went to the same show in Austin, TX and they were great, but this time in Monterrey they were just incredible. I was also in front row at the very middle of the stage, so I had the opportunity to enjoy the musicians first hand. Man, there is a great difference being in front and have not only eye contact, but actually interact with them. Petrucci's set was great. Their sound was very good, specially on those metal riffs he plays. The audience went wild when Petrucci started right on time at 9 o'clock. But they were never knew what was to come: Steve Vai. Definitely the best part of the show. To watch Steve Vai play is to watch greatness happen in front of your very eyes. Steve makes the show really fun, not just great playing and technique. He is a showman and an innovator. His set consisted of "Shyboy", with Billy Sheehan on vocals and bass, and Virgil Donati on drums. Next song was "Giant Balls of Gold" from his latest album, and on this song the rest of the band came on stage, which were Tony MacAlpine on guitar and keyboards (wow! my first time live), and Dave Weiner on guitar. Next was "Erotic Nightmares" which was a treat to watch Steve play those special effects on guitar. Following this one is my favorite Vai song: "Whispering a Prayer". This song was the climax for me on the show. The emotions that Steve pours out of his guitar on this song flows to everybody listening to it. Thank you Steve for playing this one. Next songs were for the first time live, I think, "Bangkok" and "Bull Whip" from the "Fire Garden Suite", and then "Incantation", "Jiboom" and finally "For the Love of God". I think the audience was totally crazy after watching Steve play like that. Steve and Billy have great chemistry playing together, and its enjoyable to watch. Their sound was really loud and great, but sometimes a little confusing when all three guitars were playing, and also, Billy's bass I think it over the top, it should be a little lower so that it wouldn't take more of your attention than the lead guitar. OK, now about Joe Satriani. I think his was the best sounding set. Joe's guitar playing is absolutelly perfect. His guitar comes out really clean and the notes were just perfect if you know the songs. Matt Bissonette (my first time live) was on bass and Jeff Campitelly on drums. I think Stu Hamm was really missed, but Matt played really great. Joe's set was "Cool #9", "Satch Boogie", "Flying in a Blue Dream" (the best!), "The Extremist", "Raspberry Jam Delta-v", "Summer Song", "Always with Me, Always with You", and "Surfing with the Alien". Joe was excellent, but I wished he could play different songs. I've been to three G3 shows and he always seems to play the same songs. I know he just has a lot of must-play songs, but I would prefer at least 2 or 3 different ones. I was hoping to listen to a song from his upcoming album. Before I continue, I would like to ask Joe if he's reading this, who was the rithym guitar on "Always with..."? The Encore is just one of those things that should be recorded for history. To watch these greats play together is just incredible. You know the songs, ZZTop's "La Grange", Hendrix "Voodoo Child" and "Little Wing". I think this last one was the best part of the encore. It was played really good by the three of them. And to finish the concert they played a fourth song from the original G3 show: "Going Down". I hope that the G3 was really please with the mexican audience, because I have to tell you, 5000 people will never forget this show. This was a truly amazing weekend that I will never forget. The next day I traveled to the border to Laredo, TX to watch Star Wars Episode 2. Thank you John, Steve, Joe and all your band members. You should have taped a show from this G3 tour, because it was really great. I hope that you continue to do these tours, and that you all comeback to not only Mexico City, but Monterrey. We love you! Earlier that evening, I had the chance to meet Joe and Steve at an autograph signing. Thank you!

Words are meanless when you try to describe such an event like this, a never seen before show attending at Monterrey, first Mr Petrucci´s great tunes, must say i was very impressed of his talent as a solo artist, cant wait to get his record as soon as its available, the Mr Vai with all the shocking and electrifying noises coming out from his guitar, great stuff and with the "For the love of God alike intro" i was fooled like many others in the crowd for a couple of times, and finally the moment all we´ve been waiting for ... Master Satriani at stage when all the people started to hear the first cord shaking everyone got into a journey of magic and feelings, the way Satriani plays its unmatchable, every little note takes you to a whole new level of excitement, and finally the amazing trio playing 3 of the most amazing songs of history, each one with his unique style end up the most incredible night in the history of live concerts in Monterrey. Thenks G3 for all and keep playing and bringing joy to all the fans of good and excellent music. Hope you can visited us again soon.

I´ve had the privilege of attending two prior G# shows last year (Austin, Tx and Las Vegas, Nv) and first of all I have to say this concert in Monterrey was, BY FAR, S U P E R I O R ! ! ! ! 3 hours and 45 minutes of pure virtuosity.... First show, Mr JP. Kid, you have the most prominent future in this business. No words to describe your habilities with that Ernie Ball Wow. MP simply the best and you guys compliment each other. This Tour should be named G3-D2 (Although it sounds like Star Wars, MP and Donati are, without a shadow of a doubt, the best drum players in the world) Second Show, out came Mr. Vai and played for over an hour !!! He´s definitively from out of this world. MR. SHOWMAN. Along with him came Billy (Awesome) Virgil (Fantastic) and Tony Macalpine (instead of Mike Kineally) and this guy really Kick ass. He should be consider as an individual for future G3 Tours !!! Last, But Not Least came Satch. Man, you still be the Master, the Teacher, the Inspiration of most guitar players. In one word: FLAWLESS. In the Jam session, there were no 3 but 4 songs !!! with the well known ZZ Top´s La grange and Jimmy´s Vodoo Child & Little Wing they also played Freddy King´s Going Down to close the most unforgetable night of my life. Please consider Monterrey again for future G3 Tours.

Great Show, this is the first time i saw any of this musicians, and they really played really great, better than some Live Bootlegs of the g3 Tour on the U.S. first part, Petrucci played really well, DAMN Dave LaRue, great bass player, in second there was Steve Vai and the great Billy Sheehan opening with shyboy amazing for the third part of the show i couldn't wait more, Mr. Joe Satriani, I was really waiting to see Stu Hamm play, but Matt Bisonnette Did a great Job, the last part of the program was awesome, it was a shame that the security didn't let me take pictures, i took a few but they didn't come out pretty well but soon i will post them here. Thanks g3! And thanks to chick that was lendin' me her lighter

The best, simply the best. Petrucci , Portnoy and LaRue were fantastic,Petrucci with a very good guitar sound better than Dream Theater's concert en el Escena. Steve Vai, Macalpine and Sheehan, without words, excellent show, check the way to see the simplicity of the difficult stuff, impossible things, excellent playing. And the Maestro Satriani, God bless you , u are my inspiration in my playing, Thank u, and i hope this isn't the first nor the last than you all come to play to Monterrey. Come back soon.

Keep Playing.
