I really enjoy when Joe plays Flying in a Blue Dream and every time he plays it I get really excited. That's why to me every gig in which he plays Flying in a Blue Dream is a 10 score including this one and the not long ago g3 performance as well also in Mexico City and with John Petrucci and Steve Vai.Satch is great!!Viva Mexico!!

Petrucci and Vai were at the show, and they're great, but Satriani is definitely the greatest. The Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City experienced the wonderful composition skills of John Petrucci and the circus-like appearence of Steve Vai, both entertaining and impressive in parts of the show, but Joe shocked everybody. By the time he was playing Flying in a Blue Dream, the Satch was completely in the atmosphere, playing with ease and thunder, the place fell apart on every other theme. The guitar, endorsed by the late Hendrix, had only one name this night, and will be remembered as one of the greatest, amongst De Lucia and Yepes, that have ever played in Mexico City.

Alberto Arevalo.

Hello to everyone, I'm from Mexico City and I have to say that the G3 concert was really great, amazing I would say. Maybe there's one point that didn't make the 10, most of the people were a little bit dissapointed at the end of the show because Joe, Steve and Jonh didn't came back to play another song. Well, maybe for the next time... hopefully Speed of Light... Thanks Joe!

Saludos

It was certainly one of the best gigs I've been to. Petrucci opened with a great force in his playing. He set the mood for the rest of the gig perfectly. The only problem was that the band stopped sounding in the beginning of the last song, but it was solved really fast and wasn't a big matter. Steve Vai was really amazing. He played with the audience mood in a way I had never seen before. For the love of god was really stunning. Then came Joe and sent the gig to the ceiling. His set was composed of the songs I like the most from him. Always with me, always with you was great, especially because I went with my girlfriend and how much we both like it. The jam was really impressive. It was a really great concert.

Wow!! It was by far the most excellent, impressive and touching show i've ever seen in my whole life. It was great to watch the people i admire the most to deliver the best of them in stage. John Petrucci played excellent, Mr. Vai shocked the audience completely with his excellent licks and signature guitar stunts. He really (I mean really!!!) made me cry with this beautiful tune called "whispering a prayer", man!!! it was the most touching thing i've ever witnessed, definitely my favorite performer of the night (sorry Joe!). And then came Mr. Satriani, incredible he was just excellent, i was really trilled when he played Raspberry Jam Delta V (was that an ending solo or what!!). I just want to thank Satch, Steve and John for giving me the best time of my life with your incredibly beautiful music. Thanks and good luck to everyone!!

It was the second best i've ever saw, the best was Engines of Creation Tour. I like'd Petrucci and Vai, but for me the best guitar player in the world in Joe Satriani, he's master of the masters and there's no turn back. The best part of the show was when Satch played the classic songs like: Always with me, always with you, the extremist, cool 9; but i think Crushing Day should be on the list. There wasn't enough time for me to see this guitar god, besides the show ends at 12:00 pm. Was a terrific night, the adrenalize was very high and all the fans were really excited to see this three genius in action. Thanks to all of them especially thanks to you Joe Satriani for think in Mexico as a part of the G3 tour, now you know there are many Satch fans that are waiting for you every time you came. Thanks a lot and come back very soon.

The G3 was incredible. A perfect guitar mixture. I think, it was a line-up we´ll never see again. Memorable sounds, accompanying with deep and unfogettable own styles and effects, made magic that night at the National Auditorium.

John Petrucci sounded tremendous; once again, he has demonstatred his virtuosity, speed, own style, perfect timming, clean and professionalism. I think he captivated the audience. Also Portnoy was amazing.

Steve Vai really shock the audience with body-guitar movements, unexpected sounds, incredibles tapping, acrobatics rhytms and tonge-harmonics. He knows perfectly the instruments so he talk with the guitar.

Joe Satriani is a titan guitar player. Perfect executions and unique composition style makes Satch great.

At the end of the concert, playing JP, SV & JS together it was the most incredible and exiting experience on the guitar world.

G3 Slammin' Mexico! My review for last May the 15th in MEXico is this one: JP started playing some of his material, doing it excellent, as you know it's amazing the speed he play. He played for about 50 minutes with the drummer of Dream T and the bassist of Steve Morse Band, not S. Harris... then start playing Vai, Billy sang 'Shy Boy' from his earlier band... with him was also Tony McAlpine playing keyboards too. Sorry, I can't remember the name of the other guitar player and drummer... anyway... they made an excelent atmosphere with 'For the love of God'. Three guitars, Mr. Sheehan and the drums were there for about 50 minutes more. After they changed the instruments, start playing Satch, Jeff and Mr. Biss on Bass... As always, was an 'emeritus' concert, more than everybody expected. Not just play everyone as one of the best musicians ever, they played all together (JP, SV, BS, JS, JC, GB + guitar) the Z.Z. Top La Grange... as you know, this is a very special sound to show the virtuosity... then... then... Mr. Hendrix I think was there cheering with all of us hearing Voodo Child and Little wing... Yeah! everybody knows these songs... they are very special not just for the sound, those have something special that make you feel your skin really thin, and try to imagine that with the G3 and the guys!!! As Renton said on the movie: Multiply your best and you still far from it... Simply: MUSIC TO WAKE UP DEAD.

Hi, I never ever seen a concert like this, specially to see how Joe plays and he take the fans to heaven. It was an amazing concert with Petrucci, Vai and of course Joe. Personally I think Steve won the night with his show and his amazing way to play guitar, but the part I enjoyed more was when Joe started to play in the dark the introduction of Cool. No. 9, it was like an orgasm to see how satch begins his participation I couldn't belive it, I was watching and listening to the one guitar's god (the best). I'm little sad because I would like to win some of the aftershow passes, and meet Joe, Steve and John I hope having a better luck next time, so this concert I will never forget it, and would like to say: JOE YOU ARE MY INSPIRATION, YOU ARE ALWAYS WHISPERING IN MY EAR TO PLAY YOUR MUSIC AND TO PERFORM NEW THINGS, I TAKE YOU IN MY HEART AND THIS CONCERT WILL BE IN MY MIND ALWAYS WITH ME. We hope to see you netx time soon very soon Joe Satriani. God bless you and your family and all the band.

Finally. After months of waiting, we finally had the chance to see the three best guitar players of the world performing together.

Petrucci and Portnoy started setting the mood for the evening with some really cool stuff, among which was Glasgow Kiss, a pretty darn good song. Too bad John played for a little over half an hour.

Then Zorro entered the arena! The excentric Mr. Vai appeared on stange wearing a mask and a cape. In my opinion, his act was the best of the show. His amazing blend of harmony and wackiness is almost too perfect. He performed songs like "Erotic Nightmares","Jiboom", "Fire Garden", "Whispering a Prayer"(great song), and the classic "For the Love of God". The bass duel was really fun to watch.

Afterwards, Satch started his setlist with "Cool #9", followed by the classic songs "Raspberry Jam Delta-V","Satch Boogie", "Always with me...","Summer Song" , "Surfing with the alien". All these songs sounded a lot like the Live in San Francisco Album, which is something very good. Watching Joe perform his classics was a blast.

Then, Joe invited his two "guests" to jam with him. Watching these three magicians on stage was awesome. Each one has his unique sound, but all three of them blended perfectly. Their solos were outstanding. Too bad they only played three songs together (La Grange,Little Wing and Voodoo Child). The audience was hungry for more, but the lights were turned on and we had to leave the venue. They could make a 5 hour show and people would love it, but, let´s face it: they are human after all and therefore get tired.

Overall, watching these three virtuosos was an amazing experience. By the way, what happened to the aftershow passes? Maybe they are saving them for the next G3 concert in Mexico City(hopefully soon) :)

Maybe i´m not an expert like you guys who sent your reviews before mine, but i most say the show was S U P E R B. I just loved the purity of Petrucci/Vai/Satch sounds, the complexity of their techniques and specially the link among all of us last night. thanks for talking to us with your guitars the way you did. I missed some Satch´s songs, "Why", "Crystal Planet", "Big Bad Moon", "War", I´m sure we ALL were ready for more of you three guys and your crews. Maybe next time we could enjoy extra time of you. Please think about it........

Thank you Satriani, Vai, Petrucci, Sheehan, La Rue, Portnoy, MacAlpine for your wonderful music it gives more sense to the bless of being alive.

Awesome!!! the best show in mi whole life. The show accomplished with the phrase "Expect the unexpected"; with Mr John Petrucci and Mr Mike Portnoy of DREAM THEATHER opening the show, Petrucci was excellent with his Heavy sound and incredible speed, gived us a good demonstration of string-jumping, the best song of John was the mix of Paradigm shift/Erotomania, but John played less of the time we wanted to. The time for Mr "Guitar show" Steve Vai has come!!! Steve was in our terms "De poca M*dre", with songs like "Shy boy", "Erotic nigthmares", "Fire garden", and the acclaimed" For the love of god", also the guitar-bass duel between Vai & Sheehan was awesome but my favorite part of his gig was when he played the harmonics with his tongue!!!. But now the moment that we expected, the time to play of JOE SATRIANI!!!!! Mr Satriani started playing in the dark some riffs that all of we identified as the intro of "Cool no 9" like as the first G3!!!, next, Mr Jeff Campitelli started to play "Satch´s boggie" , excellent song, next joe played songs like "Flying in a blue dream", "Raspberry jam delta-v", "The extremist", "Summer song", "Always with me , always with you" and his anthem "Surfing with the alien", at the end of this song Joe did the classical riffs that we imitate by singing it.

Joe said that he wants to call the other guitarist, first appeared Steve, and next John.

Time for G3!!!!!

With son like ZZ.Top´s "La grange", Sligth return´s "Voodo child" and the legendary Jimmy Hendrix´s "Litltle wing", the individual solo´s were amazing an the armonization of all of them.... INCREDIBLE!!!!

I want to comment that I won an aftershow pass to meet Joe, Steve and John, they are really cool guys, I´m really honored of shaking their hands and I´m really sorry that I forgotten my camera in my house but I have their autographs to remember this awesome concert.

Great Show with great music and incredible performance by G3 crew. Dreamtheater's Petrucci and Portnoy showed up with a mix of new music plus some DT's classic guitar solos. Petrucci was flawless but with some audio trouble at the beginning of his fourth cut. Steve Vai is always wizzard on stage. Performing every trick he knows on his guitar, playing loud and touching the audience with his amazing expertise. Just like the wizzard in a kids party. "Stach" was next. He is the master of the stage, showing total evolution through old and recent cuts. He comunicated well with the audience despites language limits. No words for the three party contribution...just perfection and musical virtuosity. In a few words a Great Show for a Great Audience too.

Amazing show, I ahve seen those guitarrist before, Petrucci with Dream Theater , Vai at the Metrpolitan and Satriani a year ago. I was prepared for what it comes but I get more than I expected, they played great, and Vai with those tongue-harmonics left me perturbated. The three are the best guitarrists in the world Specially Satch and Mr. Vai , thay can talk to god while they're playing.

The bad thing: It seems nobody won the aftershow pass. What happended? Bad thing 2: They don't come up again in spite of WE and all the Auditorio Nacional asked for a couple of more songs.

I am very happy and feel lucky for having the oportunity again to see that guitarrists.

I have seen them before, as G3 and individually, but I have to say that the musicians this time were amazing!!!. In my opinion Glassgkog Kiss, a new one for me, and Paradigm Shift/Erotomania were the highest point in their short presentation. Steve Vai/Sheehan/MacAlpine/Donati/(Weigner) were the anticipated climax of the night, with songs like Shy Boy, Erotic Nightmares, Whispering a Prayer, Jibboom, Fire Garden and For the Love of God, they showed the audience a magnificent example of virtuosity, coordination and beauty along a spectacular show. The only “turn-off” (not really) was that Stuart Hamm wasn’t beside Satriani, instead, Matt Bissonette, who was good, different (We missed you Stu!!!). Satriani showed us what he always does, a good show, a good performance! My favorite Satriani´s songs last night were Raspberry V-Delta Blues, The Extremist and of course, Always With Me Always With You. La Grange(ZZ Top), Voodoo Child (Slight Return) and the masterpiece Little Wing (Hendrix) were the songs that they all played as a Jam, with Sheehan (vocals and bass), Bissonette(bass)and Campitelli(drums, should be Portnoy). They were all great at last, spectacular! I liked the harmonizations and counterpoints. G3 is a show that you just can´t miss, the very best of instrumental rock. I can’t wait for tomorrow, here in Monterrey! Warm Regards.

Well, all started as I wish. First, this amazing Petrucci Heavy-Metal killer sound, but also, this incredible type of play about the drumer. Well, then comes Dr. Vai which his amazing concept. He and Shehan put crazy the audience, I couldn´t believe that they are sane! And last but not at least Mr. Satriani came into the stage to show us what is guitar playing! I couldn´t beleive what was going on when the jam started. I wsh I can live an other G3 as soon as posible, but please birng Eric Johnson too!
