Last week I spent the day at Oakland Stadium with Brad Pitt and Phillip Seymour Hoffman. They're filming a movie called "Moneyball" about the Oakland A's. I was asked me to re-create my 2002 season opener National Anthem for the film. It looks to be a very cool movie focusing on the A's executive Billy Beane. I dressed in 2002 gear, and even used my older equipment. All in the name of authenticity.

You will be escorted to Joe's guitar world where you are invited to check out Joe's guitars, pedals,amp setup and take as many photos as you like. From there you will move to a private area where Joe will meet you and the other Club Joe fans. You will be free to ask Joe questions about any subject you wish (including his signature equipment, favorite guitars and guitarists and of course his hats!) and after the one on one session Joe will sign your items and join you for a photo taken by the coordinator. All buzzing with excitement here as we get ready to start recording a new Batch of Satch! We used to call them records, then albums, then CD's, but now??? So, Batch of Satch it is, but it will have a proper "album" title, I promise.

All the songs are written, and mostly arranged, just waiting to come alive. Jeff, Allen and Mike will be arriving in a few days for a bit of rehearsal, then it's off to the studio. I can't wait to hear all this new music played loud in a big room!

"My Kinda Girl" hits the airwaves, the "Get Your Buzz On" DVD is released, and we just had a Chickenfoot weekend in Cabo! I thought we were taking a break! Oh, and I almost forgot, we've already started making demos for Chickenfoot 2. Cabo was fun, as the fans made it a great weekend for the Foot. The webcast was a phenomenal success, thank you Jon Luini and company, and our sponsor BestBuy Big thanks to drummer extraordinare Matt Sorum for jamming with us on Thursday's gig and to my fellow Gentlemen of the Foot, Sammy, Mike and Chad, you guys rock the hardest!

I'm heading to the studio in one month to start recording a new solo project with Jeff Campitelli (drums), Allen Whitman (bass) and Mike Keneally (keyboards). The new material is dying to be recorded, and I can't wait to get started. I don't have a title for the project yet, but I will let you know when I figure it out...

It's hard to believe Chickenfoot's 2009 is coming to a close. The gig in Vegas was fantastic, and a great way to end the touring year. Cheers to all our fans for making every show not only possible, but memorable and fun. And, I want to thank all my fans at satriani.com and around the world for cutting me some slack and letting be be in a rock band for a while. Your patience with me is amazing, and not for a second do I ever forget it.

I wish I could share the Chickenfoot Gold Record award hanging on my wall with all of you. They should send one to everyone who bought the album! That would cost about a million smackers, but, I might be able to get a government grant for it... I'll work on that...

Looking ahead we have a NAMM show in January with a cool new 24 fret JS guitar to unveil, and a February 2nd release of "Joe Satriani, I Just Wanna Rock, Live in Paris" DVD, The Jimi Hendrix Tribute Tour in March, and some Chickenfoot shows in the spring and summer. It's gonna be a great year!

Experience Hendrix, the fourth edition of the biennial concert tour that features an all-star line up of music greats paying homage to the music and legacy of Jimi Hendrix gets underway in early March of next year with special performances across the country.

Featured artists who will be performing music written and inspired by Jimi Hendrix include some of the best known and most respected artists in contemporary rock and blues including Joe Satriani, Jonny Lang, Eric Johnson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Brad Whitford (of Aerosmith), Doyle Bramhall II, Ernie Isley, Living Colour, Double Trouble's Chris Layton, along with bassist Billy Cox.
