JOE RECEIVES GOVERNORS AWARD IN SF
As if being up for a Grammy isn't enough, Joe has also been awarded
the Governors Award by the San Francisco chapter. The event is not
a public show, but you might be able to buy some tickets or hang
out and catch Joe coming or going from the event. Here's information
from the Grammy Web site about the award.
Feb. 9 - 2003 Governors Awards & Nominees Celebration
Grand Ballroom, Regency Building, 1300 Van Ness Ave., San
Francisco, 6-10 p.m.
Join us as we honor Bay Area music legends Joan Baez, Joe
Satriani, the Hawkins Family, and the San Francisco Symphony
Chorus at the 2003 Governors Awards & Nominees Celebration.
The celebration will include dinner, live music, a silent
auction benefiting the San Francisco Chapter Education and
Special Events Fund, recognition of the Bay Area's 45th Annual
GRAMMY Awards nominees, and the awards presentation itself.
Mickey Hart, Steve Vai, Andra Crouch and Rita Moreno are
scheduled to present awards.
The highest honor the San Francisco Chapter can bestow, the
Governors Award is presented to Bay Area music professionals
whose creative talents have crossed all musical boundaries and
who have been recognized as an asset to the local music community.
Governors Award recipients embody the highest standards of
excellence and integrity that the Recording Academy champions
and promotes. For ticket and advertising information, please
contact the San Francisco Chapter office at 415.749.0779.

"STARRY NIGHT" TO BE AVAILABLE AS RING TONE
That's right, Satch is soon going to be on your cell phone! Joe
has licensed the rights to use Starry Night as a ring tone to
Moviso (www.moviso.com), who in turn provides ring tones to
Cingular, Verizon, T-Mobile, and others.
We aren't sure when it'll be available, but it's been approved, so your
best bet is to ask your local provider when it will be available. You
might also check online.
LIVE PHOTOS
